I'm still interested in these light weight speakers...Stopped by a local music store and looked at the Peavey PR15 . Couldn't believe how light compared to my Sp5gs ( half the weight) . I have no experience with the molded plastic speaker enclosures. I love HALF THE WEIGHT but don't want HALF THE SOUND QUALITY. I undersatnd that they won't have the same sound as my heavier speakers but I want't to know of anyones has heard these in a live or karaoke application . I would be looking at them for small to medium venues. They seem great on paper , enough power for me, lite weight , good quality and a good price ($169 ea) ...just want to hear the sound (which I can hear at the store) Just wondering if anyone has any expericene with these live ?

They are ok for a basic set-up maybe at home. You won't like them compared to the SP-5's.

Thanks Lon, I emailed a guy who uses these speakers for karaoke
and his comments were that they are GREAT....for the money and like you mentioned wouldn't sound as full as the SP5G 's.....which I already thought, but all in all ..AGAIN for the money, were decent sounding speakers. I already have the sp's and a brand new Yamaha sv15iv that I bought last year just for back up. The yamaha is a lot lighter than the peaveys and not as bulky so I might just go out and buy the matching Yam versus the pair of lite weights.... I LOVE my Peavey SP5G's and get lots of compliments on the sound , but my back could use a break with some lighter speakers for some smaller private parties and DJ gigs...

Thanks Again
