How much does the newest version of the Spigot program cost? I have an old version and I just got a new computer. I had Windows 98 and my new computer has XP Pro....So is there an upgrade on the Spigot? Also, can I transfer all of my files from what I already had (as I've changed the numbering system in my songbooks, to my own numbering system? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

By Golly Debbi, You're one of the few people besides myself that still uses the Spigot. Unfortunately, I believe "Biff" has let the karaoke menu business.

In actuality, you're going to have

A. One PC for your menu
B. A new Songbook Program

If you really have to, because you have thousands of hours songbook menu -

The Spigot base is ACCESS '97. If you load a version of ACCESS '97 on to both PC's, you can transfer your info on diskette. If you load ACCESS '97 on your new PC, Your XP may not like it.

I the next question is how...

On your old PC, Open the Spigot Pgm. In the top left corner under "FILE", click on "Backup Songlist" - Close Spigot.

Open Windows Explorer, in the left window under C drive, there should be a folder "karaoke" click on that. In the right window you'll see 2 folders "kbackup" - Drag the bottom one (without the gear) to your A drive. That should give you your back up. Open the A drive to double check.

If you get that far - we'll go through the rest-

The new Songbook menu programs ie. KjPro, Musicbookdeluxe are really easy to use compared to the Spigot. But if you have a lot of time invested, it's hard to let it go.

Let me know what happens.

I'm afraid that the karaoke spigot is no longer available.

I would not really care as it never was very good ghood at making song books.

Go and get yourself karaoke song list creator from www.airwer.com it is far better than the spigot ever was.

:D

Airwer is full of errors.

FASTRACKS is awesome.

Speedbook is good, if you can have some help converting your access or excel documents from Chip Stahley, the creator of the product....

Hell why bother converting??

If your entire songbook is already IN a Access/Excel database, create a report in either one of those programs & save yourself some $$. I prefer to type in my discs manually anyway, this way I get to know my library a little more & can catch errors in spelling as I go.

Then they are fixing what I tried last year!

Spelling errors, errors of songs on discs, all kinds of stuff. I hated it!!
