I have some very newbie questions about set-up. I am in the dark about hooking everything up. I am looking at buying a crown ce 2000 amp to compliment 2 yamaha 1" club speakers. The speakers are rated at 250wts continuous each and also a yamaha 18" sub i believe rated at 400 watts continuous... I want to make sure I dont under power the speakers so does anyone have an opinion on this combination? I will be running through a Mackie dfx 6 or 12 mixer. I will also be running two jvc single tray players so I can have something playing in between singers... Thanx in advance for your expert opinions(taken with a grain of salt) |

Kev, why don't you direct your question to the "Ask Sammy" forum on this site? That's mostly hardware/software type questions in there. Welcome aboard! |

Well I would recommend getting a separate amp for you sub. The CE2000 will power it all fine. However you will need to put the mains on 1 channel & the sub on the other & this will be a little TOO much power for the mains. Use the CE2000 for the mains & pick up a CE1000 bridged to the sub & you'll be sounding sweet. I take it you are using an electronic crossover. The built in high cut in the sub is done passively which will rob power & may be the wrong frequency for the mains. |
