Post subject: | Sound Choice Multiplex |
Bought some recent releases of Sound Choice (multiplex) so I can learn some new songs... I can't argue with the quality of the sound choice tracks but why on their multiplex do they continue to have only one channel for the lead vocals? ?...One of the reasons I like the POP HITS MONTHLY is that their multiplex tracks make decent filler music . I pop a PHM in and let the lyrics scroll and people just sing along with the newer releases ..... Its just an observation |

They do it so you can still turn the vocals down a little. If you run in mono this won't be a problem ;c) |

I haven't really found any sort of demand or requests for vocal accompaniment tracks. So, I avoid those types of discs when possible. The "Sing It Now" brand carried in the local Best Buy have them, but they only cost about $10 (9+9 format) - they seem to sound okay to me and for that price it's worth it. Otherwise, I've generally tried to stay clear of them and get something with more songs on them for the money. |

This just dawned on me.... I don't listen to the radio... it has occured to me that I am actually hearing todays "Hits" from the various Monthly sets I get, or through the singers at the places I KJ at... In other words... when I am someplace that has a radio on.. and I hear a song, I think it sounds funny because I have never heard the original before... I need to get out more.. |

I have a number of the PHM's and kinda like the multiplex tracks. For a lot of the new hits, it gives ya a chance to listen to that track you're about to make an attempt to sing and get it fresh in your mind. Gives ya a little better chance of getting close. Also, at home for practice, it gives you a sample of what it should sound like. And as stated above, it makes good filler music. Sometimes, if dinner is still on once I get set up but it not time to start yet, I'll play those tracks with the tv off, so all you have is the audio. Works well. |
