And how well did you sing them? I did 5 new ones last night:

"Run Through The Jungle" CCR, Aced It

"Here Comes The Hotstepper" Ini Kamoze, Very Good

"Hot Hot Hot" Buster Poindexter, Aced It

"Squeeze Box" The Who, pretty good(Needs A Little Work)

"Milkshake" Kelis, Standing ovation!! I changed the words "Boys" to "Girls", The response blew me away!

I have not been doing much singing lately more playing.. except with one cover band.. lately.. from Tucson.. but that band is very new age (enigma/enya type)

But in my show this weekend in a kamakazi .. I drew.. an unfortunate deal...
I put in some new tracks that were not in the books to throw some ppl off.. and I drew "I'm the Bullgod" by Kid Rock... I crashed and burned on it.. pretty bad too.

"Dance With My Father" is available on MANY discs...

go to musicbookdeluxe.com and you can find out what it's on.

If your favorite manufacturer isn't on their listing, bug the heck out of your manufacturer! I know I've been talking with both MBD and STTW about it!

Good choices!

On Sunday, I tried Cyndi Lauper's All Through the Night. It went rather well. I now have a new respect for that woman's range!

I attempted Karaoke suicide, and survived! I love singing Meatloaf, and can pretty much do it straight up on most nights. Knowing that Jim Steineman writes all of his songs, I tried one of Jim Steineman's other songs- All coming back to me now by Celine Dion. I dropped it a 1/2 and you had to see the looks on the people in the audience!  :?:

I can't say I aced it, but it didn't suck.

I started a show out for someone tonight. Didn't sing as we had people there. After the regular KJ got going, I put a slip in for "Green River" by CCR - always like that band but never tried that song. Some odd lyrics and fortunately was over QUICKLY. Thank goodness! Was fun though.

Had a horrendous head cold this weekend, but I was egged into trying those two songs... Love and Rockets - Needs work.. Locomotive Breath - no one knew it existed in karaoke land around here I guess.... people started to get rowdy as soon as they recognized it... Went over quite well..

"With Arms Wide Open" - Creed

Somehow I had missed this on my monthlies a year ago... so I got it on a custom disc from SingToTheWorld.com

MAN, what an awesome version! I tried it, never having sung any Creed songs before, and absolutely fell in love with it!

I was performing for an interviewer, so it made it especially wonderful!

Tried a couple new ones last night:

That's the Way It Is (Celine Dion) - Kicked butt! It's a really fun song to sing!
My Immortal (Evanescence) - It was pretty good, too. I wasn't as confident as I needed to be, so I'm going to do it again with authority
Hopelessly Devoted to You (Olivia Newtown-John) - I got roped into doing this, it wasn't by choice. I was getting applause 1/3 of the way through the song even though I stumbled along some of the words! I'd do it again.

BJC,

If only you had recorded Milkshake... I can't say I like the song (or the genre, for that matter), but that sounds like it could be the funniest thing I've ever heard.

I tried singing both parts to Aqua's Barbie Girl once, with (obviously) mixed results...

I decided to off the beaten path last night and did Barbra's rendition of Memory from Cats. I slightly messed up the modulation, but no one seemed to notice. Beyond that, my best friend always says that song was made for me. It was liberating to do something other than 'normal' karaoke tunes!

kielejocain, It probably is very funny. A flair I add to the song is singing the part,

" I can teach you , but I have to charge" In a deep grainy devil like tone.

Everybody loves it when I sing the song, Its a winner for me.
