That's interesting. Never thought about setting up the "Control Center" away from the stage. |

Only way... I couldnt do it on stage anymore and set the sound right (esp vocal levels) . Plus we are accessible to patrons. Depending upon the venue we run a 50 or 100 foot snake.. |

My favorite show I ran was when I was out in front of the stage where the sound man sat for bands. Most of the time (where I worked) there wasn't an option to do so. |

Actually in a crowded bar this works better. The singers have their little corner not bothered by traffic bringing slips and as you can see in the pic the station takes up very little space and can be tucked along side a wall usually the rack is next to the wall and shielded. It makes for a better and uncluttered setup. Usually we are closer to the wall and after hookup I move closer but hadnt yet before taking this shot. Sometimes all thet see is a host with a computer screen keyboard and mouse. The rack is not apparent. |

When I did mine in that manner, my snake had 4 1/4" sends for floor monitors (or whatever), I just used 2 for the monitors & 1 with proper adapters for the video - worked perfect, no interference. |

Nice set up. I should think about that type of set up in the future. Just our of curiosity, which cables did you put in the snake and how long were they? My biggest problem I see is the VGA cable I use for the monitor, as well as 1/4" I use for the vocal monitor. I guess I can use XLR on the vocal monitor so I can preserve the signal over long distance. Thanks in advance. |

Yup actually put 2 RCA plugs in the stage box and RCA on sends for the stage monitor and big screen.. The 50 foot only has 8 pairs which is enough but the 100 foot has 8 returns and 4 sends. Also send audio to the powered speakers which I exchanged male chassis mount XLR plugs in the stage box. One takes the stage monitor which I put a 1/4" plug in the stage box. It makes a very professional setup and adapts to any venue with ease I didnt think the 100 foot would handle video but graphics does not take HD and it works just fine.. I do use a video DA at the send end but could use a DA or an RF modulator on the stage end. When I setup in a new venue and turn the sound on it is very impressive and professional. Non-singers approach and give us compliments for we are fully accessible to the crowd. |
