Im sure this is simple but I tried connecting my IPod directly to my powered Yorkville speaker. Only wanted to use One speaker so I connected the IPod with a 1/8th inch sterio plug and connected to my power speaker with a 1/4 inch sterio plug. Problem I am only getting one channel to play. What am I overlooking?

You are probably over looking the fact that your Yorkville speaker is mono, so it has mono input jacks. Does it have XLR inputs, TRS inputs or both? I don't know which model Yorkville's you have, but it would be my guess you will have to get an adapter plug that is TRS female input and male TS output if you are using a 1/4" input. If your using an XLR type input then you would want a male XLR to a female male TS adapter. That will probably get both channels of your IPod into the mono Yorkville.

I was thinking along those lines. But the sales tech at Radio Shack advised me to use a 1/4inch sterio plug into the CD imput in the back my Yorkville NX520p speakers. I should of know better

You will have more control on the music if you send the input to the mixer; that is if you have a spare channel.

Well that was your main problem, going to RatShack for advice. If you want both channels of your iPoD in a single mono channel you need something like this
