1) Do all karaoke players change the key of the song by changing the speed?
2) Do you have any comments on the Fleco DVD-5 player?

If I am not mistaken, most modern key changers work "digitally" and do not speed up or slow down the song to accomplish key changes (like to old tape units did)

I currently have the jvc triple disc cdg player and it changes the key diagitaly not by speed it does a fairly good job depending on the quality of CDG you are useing the better the CDG the better the key change.

The older players did that. Back when they did the tapes, or prior to digital. There are still a lot of people around who think that they all still change the speed, but if it says "digital" it does it electronically, rather than by changing the speed. I've argued with people on this - even to the point of changing a particular track by 4 steps, then using a watch to time it just to prove the point.

in the winamp plugins, they have a tempo adjust, and a key adjust...
yet one more reason for me to want to go purely digital!
