He's a little fresh-face kid from Peru, 21 years old. Studied at some big music academy in Barcelona, Spain, for 3 years. Incredibly talented and very humble.

That's amazing - hopefully the music industry doesn't change him. soon he won' t know what to do when the girls start swooning.

Hammer-ons, double-tapping and pinched harmonics are something all we kids got into at some point. I'd like to hear him play something structured (besides that solo-flambouyant show of speed) which appeared to resolve to "Smoke on the Water" (perhaps). Many of his notes were muted were inadvertently muted. It's fun watching fast displays of Paul Gilbert due to the clarity of accuracy.

I'd like to hear him PLAY *WITH* the band, and see how he fills, blends tastefully with the other musicians, See how he resolves his leads, handles turn-arounds in blues settings and structured progression. We used to go wild with Alvin Lee stuff, and EVH stuff when I was a kid.. Yet blending with bandmates as the guitarist IMHO is more important than fast finger exercizes. Problem some of these kids have is they :rush: the tempo, and have a tough time "blending"..

Speed technique was "the drool factor thing" when we were in our teens too. Most all kids go thru it, sort've like the faster "the cooler" and this will likely always be the case but it's accuracy and tasteful clean playing, direction, and like with singing "telling the story" so there must also be resolution. When we were teens it was Alvin Lee, Steve Howe, Akkerman (Focus) etc. Later EVH, SRV and next arthritis and pain.
