It did turn into a storm cell which drifted SE all the way to Nebraska. I caught it with the sun low in the West. Here is the western end a couple of minutes before. Notice the heavy black rain clouds low to the ground In a matter of minutes the temp dropped 20 degrees and winds were fierce. The first photo shows wind shear at it's finest.

I miss the cool weather. The hot humidity has hit us now. Yuck !! Bad hair days.
