Post subject: | Karaoke Player to Mixer |
I had my karaoke player connected to the mixer via the 'tape input.' I then bought a y-adapter,' stereo to left and right mono, and tried it connected to a line in on the mixer. For some reason I seemed to get more and better sounding output when I used the tape input. Is this what I should be seeing? If so, can I get an explaination from one of you techno-geeks? Thanks! Pat Because it's not controlled through a gain pot or sweepable channel eq's.. it's coming off the machine direct.. But try to sing off it in a club.. under high power it may feedback. The keyword is MAY. Depending on the volume and acoustics. |

Brian, Actually, I split the left and right channel into 2 separate channels on the board. The reason I wasn't getting as much gain was because I didn't have the trim pots turned up enough. All is now right with the world! Thanks! |

Pat That works too.. I use my 24 ch rack monitor mixers when I do that.. I have 2 Crest RMX series mixers that rarely see use but that's what they do.. otherwise I use the Stereo channels on my Yahamas.. You don't want the RMX's for karaoke.. $8K for 24 channels in and 6 mono outputs, but a real nice set of 4 way sweeps for tone control.. all rack mountable. mostly a live toy. I have been studying DJ gear again.. thinking about re-stocking on it.. and building 2 more DJ systems. I have the media already.. just possibly getting more gear.. and who can't use more gear? |

For about the first 6 months of design they called the RMX-24.. and released it as an "XRM-24" the "second generation" is called the XR-24 -- t-town if you wanna be specific yes it's an "xrm" series console.. Sorry to create any confusion.. when you post after shows things tend to be "a little bit fuzzy" |
