:music: Of Course, here in Oklahoma, "Tou're the Reason God Made OKlahoma" is probably the most popular here.

I voted for summer nights. However Love Shack is good, I love Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne's song. (If I close my eye's forever). But I must also mention the three legged chicken song as well.

:hehe: Summer Nights is definitely the number one duet everyone does, even til this day. But I have to say that "Love Shack" comes in a definite second. :music:

Can I hang myself now?
Im not even a KJ and the idea of hearing "Summer Nights" just one more time makes me want to choke. Liane has her little finger pistol that shes takes out to shoot herself with when this one (along with a couple of unchoice others) is sung. Me, I dig down deep in my pocket and pull out the length of rope, tie a noose and hang myself.
I can appreciate that the song remains popular, but be honest, if it wasnt your work, how many of you would break that disk before ever playing it again?
:p

i went deaf in one of my ears a few years ago( had nothing to do with music) i recently tried to sing a duet with a patron. the song "time of my life" i used to sing it perfectly( im in the same key as bill medely) . i found out that singing with mono hearing really affected my duet. i dont think i will try a duet anytime soon. big jimmy c

I was born without a left ear and no hearing there either I had several plastic surgery operations to build my left ear, you learn to adapt with the right one, its hasn't held me back from hosting or singing, with only one ear. (I was premature at birth) I don't know how many people knew that but its true. I don't talk about it because I don't feel anymore diffrent than anyone else when it comes to doing or singing Karaoke. I just have fun doing it... :D :D

Supposedly, being deaf in one ear is supposed to disrupt music's sound in one ear but I have perfect pitch, Your good ear makes up for the diffrence in sound and since it doesn't pass through the drum like normal sound we have to be careful of hurting the good ear drum when we go out. When I work I like to blast the sound which puts me at risk a lot and gives me a bad ear ache and headache. I went to a speech therapist from the age of 7 to 12 yrs old to learn how to adjust to sounds and speech. Of course to my advantage, if I dont want to hear what someone is saying I just turn my head to the left and pretend I am listening, (LOL!!!) I don't consider being deaf in one ear a handicap at all..

the hardest part for me was the loss of equalibrium. i couldnt walk a straight line or climb a ladder for a long time. even now i bounce off a wall or two totally sober. i remember when it first happened my friend paul came over one night and we had a few drinks and sang karaoke. at one point i got up off the couch too quick and slammed sideways through two sliding closet doors and landed in the closet with the doors on top of me. his comment to my girlfriend was "holy sh... is he ok?? of course i just groaned, got up went to the bathroom and came right back to sing. big jimmy c

For us, it seams the Duets we end up with all the time are:
Paradise (I do a mean Meatloaf, and every week there's a lady asking me to sing w/ her)
Summer Nights (Sometimes 2-3 times in one night )
Unforgetable (at least onece a week)
I've got you babe (again at least once a week.)
I don't sing many duets anymore, mainly because when I host I open my set w/ Heaven Can Wait, and when I don't I usually end up w/ Bat Out of heck somewhere in the set.

I am deaf in one ear, and blind in the other. :spiny: I think it was the jet engines in Vietnam. Or perhaps LAX. :music: When I use the phone, I place the earpiece on my jawbone. That way, I can still drink my beer. :hehe:

Here in Newfoundland, Love Shack is ahead of Summer Nights, and Paradise blows them both out of the water. Me and the girlfriend do a pretty mean "i'm Real" (J Lo and Ja rule), but as I have stated before, I have only seen "I Will Survive" performed solo once since I have been going to Karaoke (about 6 years), So I would have to say that I will Survive is Newfoundland's favorite duet! Nuts, huh!

Jedi... :D Let the farce by with you.. Yes, most gals sing "Survive" in groups, preceded by Tequilla-Mucho, or Martini-Grande. :music: I think it's grand. Darwin was right. :hmmm: , No maybe not... :hehe: Oh, well. They will sing anyway... :music: :music:

At my shows the most popular duet of all time would be, well, none. Because of my fair rotation, a duet is a turn for both singers and no one wants to waste thier turn on a lousy duet.
