Hello!  Where can you purchase a USB audio out?  I need it for my laptop to produce better sound than using a headphone out cable...even though so far everything sounds really good, I know I can do better using a USB Rca out to my mixer!

Thanks,

Tray-ZZZZZZZ

Believe me the AC97 Codecs now are awesome you can buy things now like the imic It just acts just as an interface for the sound you have.. If you have a good system you will not notice the difference. An expensive usb sound board is not worth the money.. Spend money on other things.

Knightshow:

Yes, that is perfect.....I noticed it stated it requires Windows XP or 2000.....I would guess it should work with Vista, right?  I soooooo wish I could have had XP but now with all the new laptops they aren't even letting you do that, so Vista it is...grrrr...but it's not tooo bad...just not as user friendly as XP!

 Yes, you are right, I stand corrected.
With the one I linked to you would also need a 1/8 stereo to rca cable.

Why isn't the sound good enough?

If it's good enough to feed head phones, what's going to make it any better?

Well I know in my show computer I went from a built in motherboard card to a Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card finally to an M-Audio 192 Audiphile card & the difference was like night & day as far as clarity & punch - pro grade audio card complete with balanced 1/4" outputs.

It listed for $220, they would sell it normally for $180, I talked them down to $120.

What kind of "computer noise" are you experiencing? A hum?

Author:  TracyTunz [ Mon Jan 28, 2008 2:25 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: USB Rca audio out Cable

the noise I am hearing is only when NO music is playing and I am moving around on the laptop, it seems to just pick up a digital kind of noise....hard to explain...lucky for me it's not to loud of a noise but it's there and before going to a laptop, I did not hear this before.....and from what I understand and have been told the computer noise is normal but only when coming out of the headphone jack....and now just today I got the USB cable with the audio out and that was suppose to take care of it, but it didn't.... :(   And I am a computer geek, I should know this stuff...lol!!!

You could try (and I just mean as a test-not a fix) a 3 prong to 2 prong ground lift plug...you might have one laying around or else they are only about 75 cents and if the noise is eliminated then look into something such as this: http://www.zzounds.com/item--EBTHUMX
Lonman convinced me this is the way to go to get rid of the hum and I am glad I listened to him...worked perfectly.
