my RSQ Single tray is finally giving me problems after 4 years.. random songs are nuttin but word jumble and messed up skipping music...what do I do now? I use my lap top for my stuff but need a Player for my assistant during my show as she still uses disc's....
Is there any way to clean the lens? or do you think that is even my problem?
Thanks in advance for any responce
Me
P.S.
My cavs player is still good and going on 5 years, my RSQ 500 Neo3 still sucks as bad as the first day I got it a year ago, and the JVC single tray I bought from someone on here has the same problem as the one in question since I bought it so maybe I can have them both back to working order.

You can use foil wrapped alcohol swabs. The optics are on a sensitive spring assembly. Squeeze some alcohol onto the optic eye. Gently wipe without pushing it down. If you have been in smoke bars it has a nicotine film on it. Wipe until it has a clear sheen to it.

Clean out all the dust and debris in the unit It is surprising what gets into it. chances are this will get some more mileage out of it but if it is 4 years old I would be shopping for a new one.

I use to clean mine every 2 months. The quality of the music gradually decreases and you dont even notice.

The make disc cleaners.  They have a tiny brush on them.  You put a drop of alcohol on it and let it run.  It will stop in about 20-30 seconds.  It will need to be cleaned more often.  Soon it will need replaced.   They can't take the wear and tear.

Why don't you add an external disc (drive) player to the computer?

you don't want to use a disc cleaner like that. There've been LOTS of reports how those types of cleaners are harmful to the optics.

You're better off using regular alcohol swabs.

Just sounds like the optic itself may need to be replaced. Usually a cd repair shop can do it!

In the meantime, there are lots of smaller cd+g players that have RCA out (video and audio) that can hook up to an existing system.

They say THIS is the model that's a good replacement. I know for the money I'd probably try this before I'd try the RJ model, etc...
