Thank you Personally I use JustKaraoke from tricerasoft for karaoke and winamp for dj. I now get all my new music from tricerasoft's downloads at $.99 to $2.49 a song, even cheaper if you buy their packs (you buy a multipack and choose what songs are in that pack) up to 100 songs a pack. the website is www.tricerasoft.com and well worth it as they have Zoom songs as well as Top Hits Monthly and Forever Hits. Zoom's songs in my opinion makes Sound Choice a strong second in quality in my opinion. The only thing Sound Choice can beat Zoom is in number of songs available on disc. Because Sound Choice is so afraid of the computer karaoke age Zoom has more songs available for download. |

that's not true, Danny. SC isn't AFRAID of the computer licensing, they are at a very unfair advantage compared to Zoom, who only has to go thru RCMS for their licensing arrangements. It's not so simple for American companies to do this... I'll admit that SC is trying to control the way the go to a compressed computerized format, but they're not "afraid" of it. |

DannyG2006, Whenever you buy a song from them can you back it up to another hard drive without complications? I would hate to spend the money buying any song and not be able to protect my investment. I know some sites as soon as you try to write it to a disc or do anything else with it, it deletes itself. |

I've been able to move around my downloads from tricerasoft.com without any issues after playing with them with mp3+GToolZ, great little program, if you asked me, for manipulating Karaoke files on a pc. |

I know that I have to manipulate the Tricerasoft songs to get them into the format (in terms of file name to Artist-song-disk-track) so that compuhost can recognize them in their database. For convenience I do this on a backup copy but on my same computer (and hard drive), so it appears they have no protection. I love their 100 song packs I think I have done 5 so far. As for downloads yes, the UK laws are a lot lest strict for legal downloads of karaoke compared to the USA. In the USA a contract with the songwriter/publisher of the origional music must be made in advance with the number of copies specified, and that makes selling for downloading difficult. Some US companies seem to ignore or avoid the laws somehow, but SC is big enough that they cant flaunt the laws. SC does sell downloadable karaoke but in a propritary format that no-one seems to be using but them. In the UK as long as the standard royalties are paid downloadable songs are less of a legal mess. Sunfly and Zoom are the main UK companies, STTW and SBI are smaller but good. There are a couple dozen very small UK companies that make karaoke as well but have very small songlists. Some are good. Many can be found at select-a-track http://www.selectatrack.com/index.aspx but they are a lot more expensive than tricerasoft, but have a lot of hard to find songs. |

the best Karaoke software out today is called compuhost it's easy to use and does all the work for you. it even mixes in your filler music , has a key changer and pitch control keeps memory of all you singers in a history with their key change. you can add a slide show to play between songs, it just does so much you can't beat it and it's only 179.00. you can find it at www.kjtools.com. when they ask you where did you hear about it just type in Frantz.[shadow=tomato][/shadow] |
