I have 3 JVC karaoke machines that the disc tray's will not open on.  Do you have any suggestions of how I may fix this?  I am trying to save myself some money from purchasing replacements.

At a guess, this is most likely due to the drive belt that controls the disc tray is worn/stretched and slipping on the pulleys.  If this is the case, then it will require the belt to be replaced AND the pulleys to be cleaned (with isopropyl alcohol).

Some disc trays have a small hole in the front for manually opening the tray in order to recover a disc.  You can open the tray by inserting a pin or small wire into the hole.  This would only be an interim measure as it would be a PITA to do all the time!

There might be a dislodged disc or foreign object jamming it. Turn it upside down and shake it. Try it. Take the 4 screws out of the sides of the top cover and remove. Look for a jamming object. It uses a rack and pinion gear to eject and is hard to move manually. All the way in it is locked by a lever and on that one I cant tell you where it is. Some you cant get to without a lot of disassembly.
