Any ideas where to look for a spare power cord for the RSQ triple-tray? (I assume it's the same as the JVC). I came across this one, but couldn't readily tell if it was right, though it looks like it:

Draw the rear shape of the power cord and go to radio shack. Then you will also save shipping.
I just checked my player. The plug is a polarizing plug, the player side has a square and a round side. The plug you were showing is not correct.

Marty that looks sooo close -
I blew it up, flipped it around - it looks as if instead having a round and a square side as the JVC does, that has two round sides-
Square peg - round hole
Betcha it'll work

Looks like the one to me. My JVC SV22BK single tray has two rounded (non-polarized) sides on the plug & NOT the square/round plug so just check the back of your player to make sure.

I _have_ the RSQ tripple tray. And as I said it needs a polarizing plug.

The issue as whether it may have been the same as the JVC was brought up, I was relaying that my machine had 2 round ends on the plug, others were saying that the JVC had a round/square plug. BUT I do have a JVC dvd player with the round/square plug & oddly enough the double round works in the DVD.

don't hate me guys, but when I accidently farked up my cord, I ended up using a similar cord, that had not two rounded, but one rounded and one square... I just took an ol carving knife to the square end, and cut the rubber back a bit... it works fine, and I've never had a problem since!

The last cord that I bought is setting on a pallet behind the house.
Seasoned almond. Though it doesn't burn as long as oak, it's easier to light, and it doesn't pop, sending burning embers across the room, as much as oak does.

That picture was a non-polarized cable. The RSQ uses a polarized, therefor the rounded on one side and square on the other. What happened to the original? You may be able to use the ends from it and just rewire a new cable. Or, buy the parts at the local radio shack or any electronics shop and build one. I'd be afraid to use the non-polarized on it as there's a reason for it - protection.

The RSQ must be different from the JVC. The JVC uses the non-polarized cord. That is because it the cords were designed for 220 volts and have an adapter on the end. There is no way to correctly polarize a cord of this type so the other end is the simple double round.

This is very interesting and informative. I still have the original cord and it is fine. I have a new gig starting next week that I am planning to pre-connect some cables for it. This venue has a nice live sound system that I will patch my two RSQ's (333 & 505) into. Haven't decided if I'm going to do that via a little two-channel mixer, or run them through separate channels on the house board (2xL&R, not real appealing to me). I was basically looking to avoid having to remove the existing cable from my mobile rack, which will not be going to this venue.

Yea that's the one. The polorized cords have one round and one square on the female end. The male end has two size plugs (one larger) so it will only go into the outlet one way. That's where the protection comes in. It has to do with protection from damage.
