I just got this e-mail this morning: This is an automated message to tell you that your acount on "Karaoke Scene's Karaoke Forums" has been removed due to inactivity. If you wish to become an active part of our online community again, please re-register using this link: http://www.karaoke-forum.com//profile.php?mode=register You will receive no further e-mails concerning this account. Curious if anyone else has received something like this??? and is it legit??? Doesn't seem like I'm having any trouble posting here. K |

I bet you registered with a different account a long, long time ago and it is just now expiring. In any case, I would ignore it as you have obviously posted recently. There is also a small chance it is a "phishing" attack, and that if you followed the link which *looks* like a link to here, you will go to some other nefarious place. You probably know this, but it bears repeating. In general, it is smart never to follow such links when you don't know what they are. Particularly if you read your mail in HTML format -- there can be lots of hidden things going on. (Part of why I don't consider switching over to a graphical HTML-capable email client.) |

PM Phill. nefarious ![]() While only administration can actually tell you what's up with this, I believe periodically Phill goes thru the system and this message might have to do with change in your Email listing in your personal profile.. Yet you stated this came to you in Email so ???????? Maybe what Micky stated is the case too, dup account. |

Nope, didn't register previous to my most recent so I assume this is phishing. That was my first reaction and I never go to links I receive in e-mail just for safety sake. K |

The link is a genuine KS link to the Terms Of Service agreement however. That's what confuses me. Let Phill know. Might be a mistake, who knows. |

A long time ago in a far away land webguru was deleting accounts if they did not have an associated e-mail address. make sure you have an e-mail address associated with your account or you could be deleted. |

Ok, apparently I've had a senior moment - I seriously do NOT remember registering before...or perhaps it was on one of my computers long ago....Anyway, I probably DID because my current registration is connected to a hotmail addy, not this one...So, mystery solved. Thanks everyone. |

Hello - in order to stop the mysterty - I will explain - Oh maybe I shouldn't nothing like a good mystery to keep the natives confused! ![]() Nah - what happened was - I deleted several hundred accounts that were never activated. Therefore you may have at one time registered and used a different addy - It happens. The only ones that need to worry are those that: 1) Don't have an email address associated with their accounts (as stated above) 2) Those that don't post at least once in the forums - easy fix introduce yourselves in the "Newbie Intro" section. 3) Those that have never activated their forum accounts. Hope that helps... |
