I trying out some different options for karaoke machines right now.  I want to run out and get a disc to try out the different hardware.  Are these CD+G discs available at regular stores like Target.  I googled it and couldn't find anything.

Very limited selections are available through stores like Target, K-Mart, WalMart, but your better deals, better quality are found via the internet karaoke retailers.

many music stores, like Tower Records, carry some as well (small section of about 20-200 discs)... but believe me, you're FAR better going with online stores, like Lonnie recommends!

hi my friend why buy a karaoke machine and then have to go out and buy disks which I can assure you after playing them a couple of times they will get scratched and start to skip and jump waste of money as a professional karaoke presenter  I use the laptop and professional karaoke player swift elite 4.0 this is the most professional player in the world and retails at well over £300 pounds and the best thing about the player it has vol tempo key change and simply put all you do is add your collection of cdgs/mp3s/ and store in doucuments on pc simply open swift click add hey presto all folders containing all your disks and tracks are loaded into swift and best of all load first singer in A monitor  next singer in B monitor your find box in A section has all your tracks loaded next highlight third singer when first singer finishes stop monitor A as if you dont the next track will start as your songs are in this section when second singers starts load third singer in monitor A and line up fourth singer  karaoke kid

Well Kid,

Although there is some truth to you post.  I have been playing some of my discs for over 10 years...very frequently.  I do have some that are crap...but that's not the point here.  MrD

True enough on the discs - I have 925 CDGs and some of them are 20 years old. The only one I've ever lost is one I slammed in the lid ... the rest are A-okay. I carry a 'disc doctor' with me and have managed to salvage anything that needed it. I do, however, keep all of them in the padded plastic sleeves - not the paper ones, and not in a binder. For years I kept them in the hard CD cases! Got too heavy. Just have to take good care of them.

be ultra careful with the disc doctor... overdoing the cdgs with it... can ruin them.

Never had to do any disc more than once...and I have learned to make a backup copy of those (LORD< NO DISCUSSION ABOUT COPIES, PLEASE!)....
