hI ALL: I want to purchase music by downloading cdg's or mp3g , save them to my computer, but also back them up on a disk. I have had more computer crashes then you could ever imagine. I purchased recently a karaoke song on iTunes for .99. I cant save it to a disk for some odd reason. So now I'm looking for only music I can purchase, download and also save to a cd. I will have to purchase some kind of cdg burner too.
Thanks
Gayle

getting a bit off topic, what kind of computer are you running, operating system, memory, cpu, and what software are you running?
I've yet to have had a single crash! I had a stuttering memory problem once, and had to reboot because of that... and it was in the last ten mins of the show. I put some filler on, rebooted, and was back in thirty seconds... just curious what you're running to have so many problems with it!!??
back to being on topic... I don't like the online track thing, unless I'm putting together my own disc. Mostly because I have the backup.
I think, but I'm not certain, that ITUNES has a built in problem with burning to cd, to keep the piracy down.

Hi KnightShow: I sing only at home. It is my home desktop. I run Windows 2000 professional, I use Karafun for the karaoke player. I am not sure what the memory is, since it was homemade and I dont know what cpu is...<<<Sorry. Most of the crashes have been from getting viruses from emails. I learned my lesson about opening attachments from people you dont know.
I found this site:
http://www.selectatrack.com/index.aspx
They are in the UK but their songs sound so so good.
Oh by the way, I listened to your song, you did very good. I want to put my voice on here too, but again, dont know how to do that either !!!
Here is a list of the songs I ALMOST purchased from that site last night:
At Last= Etta James
Sealed With A Kiss= Bryan Hyland
What A Wonderful World= Louis Armstrong
Wind Beneath My Wings= Sheena Easton
Misty= Johnny Mathis
Fallin`= Alicia Keys
You`re The One That I Want= Grease
Hopelessly Devoted To You= Grease
Tears On My Pillow Grease:= Sha-na-na
Nobody Does It Better= Carly Simon
That`s The Way I`ve Heard It Should Be= Carly Simon
We Belong= Pat Benatar
Steamy Windows= Tina Turner
Hurt= Christina Aguilera
Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word =Blue & Elton John
Somewhere= PJ Proby
If I could find the quality music that this website has, I'd purchase it from the US if I could find all of these songs.. The CDG will cost me $72.00, not to bad considering how far its traveling.

Hi Gayle!
to determine what kind of processor, memory, etc, there's an icon on your desktop called "my computer". I have windows 2000 professional too. Put your mouse pointer over that icon, and RIGHT click it. You'll see a grey box pop up and slide down to the near bottom one that says "Properties". just on that first tab called GENERAL, you'll see what System you have, where it's registered to, and then the bottom section says "Computer", and shows what kind of CPU you have (in my case at work it says "Intel(R) Pentium (R)4 CPU 2.00 GHz.... right below that shows the memory.
By the way, attachments from friends can contain virus attachments as well.
I HIGHLY recommend that you get an antivirus program. Go to http://www.download.com and search for "ANTIVIR", a freeware (german) antivirus that once installed, will be great for any home user!!

While I admit selecta track has some of the best songs of good quality for pay to download karaoke songs I am most happy with tricerasoft.com
They have a gift certificate you can purcase so you can buy 100 songs for $100.
They have a lot of songs from ZOOM, that are usually good quality and PHM, MM and Music Factory. The last three companies are hit or miss so use the 30 second preview to see if they are good enough tracks.
I dont know anywhere else where you can buy karaoke tracks for $1 for the songs you choose. It is a good way to fill in songs you have missed without buying whole cds and a lot more duplicates.
Another site that is competitive is MYCDG that allows you to order from the sunfly catalog (or a subset of it) at $20 for 15 song CD. They also do Soundchoice but are a bit more expensive for that line.
I am aware of selectatrack they are a bit pricy but sometimes when you really need a song that is where you have to go. I have bought one custom CD for about $65 that had a bunch of SBI songs which is one of selectatracks suppliers from SBI. Many of the selecta-track songs are from Zoom and can be bought much cheaper at tricerasoft (with the gift packs).
From the list of song you had I suspect about half could be found at tricerasoft for a lot less than Selectatrack. Others are more hard to find and selectatrack may be the best source.

Knightshow: Here is what I found:
AMD Athlon(tm)Processor
AT/AT Comatible
458,224 KB RAM
Dr Fred: Thank you very much :D Also Fred, do you know if i purchase them and download if I can save them to my music and burn them to my own disk? I purchase a song on iTunes and I cant even back it up. I dont know if my burner will even burn the cdg or mp3g song.
I also found this place:
http://music.yahoo.com/release/14379977
Do you know anything about yahoo's music? If you can save them to my music and its not stuck in their own programs?

Gayle,
I highly recommend going to proburn.com for your single track purchases... then you can rip them with your burner, and always have your backups. With proburn, you can get Sound Choice, Easy Karaoke, Zoom, Music Maestro, and their own brand of songs... over 12,000 songs total! Buy enough to make the disc, and you'll have it for the life of the disc!
I sent you an email on how to check your burner's name and type... to be honest, if you're just going by the one that came installed on the pc, chances are it WON'T do it, unless you use powerkaraoke... their software recognizes a LOT of burners that other software doesn't recognize.

Knight show: on that website proburn.com...I dont think you can prelisten to the music. I never found the option for that on the site. I would like to try it, but not without hearing it first. Is there another sites you know of that you can just download a song or two and not make the cd and then save them to your computer, and burn them with a burner?
Thanks
Gayle

I know some of the manus, like SC or Zoom or Singtotheworld have a thirty second listening capability...
When it comes to STTW, they actually put them up on "yoosing.com", where you can go listen to there available tracks. Even sing to them, record to them. But it's not like Singersshowcase where you can upload your OWN bought tracks.

Hi, I was advised (on this forum) to try Sing to The World website, for a modest subscription you can access 1000s of tracks, sing along, record, etc. Most of the tracks I have used from them have been very good quality.
Since using STTW I hardly ever use my discs (I also just sing/record at home)
You can listen to 30 second clips if you have not subscribed, so it won't cost you to check them out.
Hope this helps.
