I have the Phonic 740 mixer, speakers and mic. I have a stereo system with a tape deck as well. in the other room not hooked to this. I use my desktop computer for playing the cdg's disk I have purchased. All of my equipment is played from the computer. How do I record my voice to put it on the Showcase in this forum? Download a program called AUDACITY---its waht I use, and its a freebie. If you want to convert to MP3 you will also need to DL a free progarm called LAME.enc.dll that does the actual conversion from wave audio files to mp3. To acutally record--jsut connect your karaoke line-out jacks to the puter's Line in jack. May need a RCA-stereo mini cable u can get at Ratshack. I have my JVC SV22 hooked up just this way--works fine lasts along time. |

audiograbber is the ripper, but it won't automatically do the encoding from .wav to .mp3. For that you need the LAME_ENC.dll file. Do a google search on that, and you'll find it on the web. Then once you have it downloaded, put it in the audiograbber c:/audiograbber folder... and under the MP3 Settings, choose the lame encoder as the one you want to compress with. |

The reason I trust what I read in here is becasue you all told me to purchase the Phonic 740 with speakers and I reallylike this system. I need to look the Phonic over and find the line out. Then try to figure out how to get it hooked up to the computer. Knightshow? Didyou see my post on what kind of memory and processor I have? Does that tell you anything on what I can and cant do with this computer. Anyways here's part of what was writtin in the above link: This guide will walk you through the steps of configuring CDex (CD Ripper/Encoder). your memory and cpu. you didn't say what ghz of cpu you have... your memory is a bit iffy... it's close to 512MB, but I think you might have multiple sticks, maybe even mis-matched ones. I'm guessing that you've never opened the case of the computer, and checked out the board? |

Hi KnightShow: I put on this computer a modum. I was on dial up and a surge came through the phone line. Curcuit city told me how to replace it. I do not know where to look inside of the computer to find these things. Someone, I dont see anymore, built this computer for me about 10 years ago. It is pretty fast, If you need to know whats inside, just let me know. Thank you!!!!

Hi: when I went to open the LAME file, it isnt opeing correctly. Do I have to purchase Winzip or someother unzipper program? Is there a free version? |

you open lame WITH audacity. when you click on lame it wall ask you what program you want to open lame with--click on audacity off the list. Then lame runs in the background and when you go to export as an mp3 after recording on audacity a small box will pop up indicating lame is in operation. |

Knightshow: Did you look at my phonic equipment? Can you pls explain alittle more detail on where I plug into the phonics? You can click on the phonic picture and see the jacks. I have a usb port on this computer. I really need things explained to me this way if your can. I REALLY appreciate you help :hug: |

based on what I'm seeing, you'd go RCA or 1/4" to one of the inputs, like your input 5 has two rca connections... Same thing with the soundblaster MP3+ device... converts the USB out from a computer to a RCA in or OUT... You could also come in the "TAPE IN" but I'd rather use the regular 1-8 lines!! |
