yeah, i really wish there was a way to stream live webcam here so we could check out other shows.  how cool would it be to broadcast your karaoke show here?  we had a singer that couldn't make it one time due to illness, so i hooked up the webcam and fed the show over messenger

Only show I know of that does that is a member that don't frequent here often = toqer.  They stream their shows live every night.

There are people streaming their cable tv from home to the office and even figured out a way to change channels.

Put some gas in the 4 wheeler I'll go get the saw.. We will go up on the ridge and get maybe an eastern red cedar with all the aroma this year.

I met Toqer once.  Totally by chance.  I was in San Jose for business and had a night off, so decided to find a karaoke show.  I checked out the local entertainment newspaper but didn't find anything, so I hopped the tram to Japantown.  I walked a couple of blocks off the main and straight into a small japanese style bar (7 Bamboo) http://www.7bamboo.com/cms/ .  

It's a small place and toqer's stage is set up very nicely.  Relatively small selection of songs, but he carries a few distinctions:

1)  The bar sells karaoke tickets for $1 a piece.  You pay the bartender and she gives you slips.  $5 = 5 slips.  I got caught in this trap.  I paid for 5 songs, sang two.

2)  He broadcasts his show live on the Internet every night.

3)  He is the/a primary developer of autokdj ... the same program I use to run my shows.  It's free and it's the best!  I had been using his program for a few months prior and it just blew me away that I walked into his gig on a total whim - 1000 miles from home.

4)  From the website, you can actively participate in the shows.  He has some overlays that includes a chat feature, so ... as the singers are singing, people at home can comment, heckle, or suggest the singer remove clothing.  :)  It's cool to see a singer react to your comment while sitting in your PJs.  Toq also has some consoles on site so the singers can fire back at you when they're done singing.  

The place was packed beyond belief the night I was there (Tuesday?).  Anyone who doesn't think pay-to-sing doesn't work is fooling themselves.  Granted toqer is in the burbs of Silicon Valley, but he had a helluva show going the night I was in there.
