This is an oldie, but has always gone over terrific for anniversary or married couples dances that I've played (not sung) at weddings and other parties - Anniversary Waltz by Eddy Howard.  There are certainly many more.  Another idea would be to find out what their wedding song was or look for something that was popular and appropriate from about the time they were married or dating.  Billboard is a good source or you can simply do a search on the year(s) - Some from 1978 include 3 Times a Lady, Love is in the Air, Reminiscing...  Good luck.

"This Guy's In Love" -- Herb Alpert

My mother loves it -- of course she just had her 55th anniversary, so the time frame is a bit different. But if they are my age (53) or older, they will remember the song.

"After the Lovin'" by E. Humperdink always makes the ladies happy.  About the right year? ...

when the girl in your arms is the girl in your heart
then you've got everything
when youre holding the dream you've been dreaming you'd hold
you're as rich as a king

so hold her tight and never let her go
day and nite let her know you love her so
with the love of your life
spend a lifetime of love
maker her yours forever more

So hold her tight and never let her go
day and nite let her know you love her so
with the love of your life
spend a lifetime of love
make her yours forever more

the song is called when the girl in your arms
its a watlz and is perfect for an anniversary
Cliff Richard sang it and it is available on Legends 81

Depends on the age & what genre they like.  My parents 40th anniv. is this Dec & they want me to sing a Journey song!  What do they personally like & want to be serenaded with???  I've done anniversary parties for older couples (50-60 year mark) that wanted '80's rock' for their 'special' songs - now this was dj only mind you, but you have to take that into consideration.

***REMEMBER WHEN****   Alan Jackson
Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

"I Cross My heart" by George Strait and I keep thinking about "Remember When" by Allen Jackson but I can't remember how it goes so maybe not." I Swear " By All for one  " True Love Ways" by Buddy Holly would be a great oldies song for an anniversary. "Look At Us" by Vince Gill sounds like it was written to be sung at anniversaries.  Yeah I do favor country music.

Wow that 'Remember When' got in there while I was writting my reply I thought of it but drew a blank on those words but that would be good.

My vote is for "Remember When".

No offense to anyone, but the Anniversary Waltz is so boring and out dated to me. It seems like the song everyone wants to hear at an anniversary then says why did I want that.  LMAO

Other songs I've done at anniversaries:

Because you loved me (Celine Dion)
Live like you were dying ( Tim McGraw)
I swear ( Boys II Men)
After All These Years   (Anne Cochran & Jim Brickman)
Still  (Commodores)
You Decorated My Life  (Kenny Rogers)
You Believed In Me  ( Karla Bonoff & the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)
One Lifetime  (Noel Haggard)
Love Is Here to Stay ( Rosemary Clooney)
Wind Beneath My wings (Bette Midler)

Here are 2 songs that I have done for couples on their anniversary, don't know your range but these are fairly easy to do.

Starting Over.....John Lennon
I'd like to make it with you........Bread

This ones a little harder but still very do-able.

Let's stay together......Al Green

Fun songs to perform also, good luck!

Probably can be adjusted key-wise to fit a male voice, but the one that finally came to mind was "Can I Have This Dance" by Anne Murray.  Sappy but the words fit an anniversary perfectly.
