Hope this isn't an annoying topic, but who has a rundown of manu codes or number of existing/dead manufacturers of cdgs?

I saw a few in another kjs book but couldn't remember a lot of them.

I thought i knew quite a few- duh, like the kinda obvious...

MM- music maestro
THM-top hits monthly
PIO- pioneer
SC- sound choice
PHM- pop hits monthly
AH- all hits
SF- sunfly
SGB- sweet georgia brown
NT- nutech
CHM- country hits montlhy
CB-chartbuster
JTG- legends
LEG-legends
TT- top tunes
PS- pocket songs
DK- ditzy panflute karaoke :)
AMS-amerisings
TIP- tip top
MH-monster hits
PR- priddis
ZM- zoom

...that's just off the top of my head- could be wrong on a few...who else can add if you have the time- or patience?

I typed many many more over the years but i must be getting old if i can only recall a fraction of them!

He had

SO -
Standing Ovation no longer in production although their line was picked up by Backstage
Quote:
RSZ
Radio Starz
Quote:
SD
Star Disc
Quote:
JC
JVC maybe? (very defunct)
Quote:
DGHH
Dangerous Hot Hits (very short lived line)
Quote:
PC
no clue maybe Pioneer?
Quote:
PT
Performance Tracks (very defunct)
Quote:
HD
Most likely Helluvadisc (part of All Hits)
Quote:
SDP
No clue although may be Star Disc Pro series?
Quote:
KK
No clue, there was an older line called Karaoke Klassics
Quote:
SAV
Nikkodo/Nu-Tech
Quote:
EX
No clue.

MH could also stand for Mega Hits an old All Hits line that they eventually converted into their own line.

Many of these are very old manu's that haven't existed for quite a few years.

There is an awful brand called "Honky Kat" I saw. I looked in a KJ's book and saw "Any Major Dude", one of my favorite songs. I tried to sing it (down 3, of course) and it was like one guy was playing it on a MIDI keyboard. Terrible.

I looked through the rest of the "HK" songs I saw, and there were lots of songs no one else does on karaoke. But I am pretty sure they are all very, very, bad.

I have also seen:

NS  -- Nashville Sounds and North Star

Add two more, SAVG (Gospel) plus they made 3 Spanish discs.

Honky Cat does have a few really good tracks, ya just haveta dig a bit to find the treasure.  They only made 5 discs.

He also had some music in french, german, spanish, and italian- so perhaps there are foreign manufacturers we're not aware of in the states or canada.

Ohhhhhh there's bunches of those!

KQ - Karaoke Quebec
OHM (think that's the code) - Dutch Karaoke
TKC - The Karaoke Company (New Zealand)

There's Hawaiian Karaoke, Polish, Maori, Japanese (of course), tons of Latin, basically every country who has access to karaoke will have at least one disc line for the native language.  Americans aren't the only ones who are karaoke krazy, it's a worldwide epidemic lol

The Quebec manufacturer is KK, Karaoke Kebec, or as we put it as KCDG (KK is one letter from the white sheets so we avoided it).
