Numark KMX02 vs My Mixing Board

Post subject:  Numark KMX02 vs My Mixing Board
My new karaoke system consists of:
Amp:  QSC PLX 2502 (Only 21 lbs, yeah!)
Mixer:  Behringer Xenyx 1622 FX
CD+G:  Numark KMX02 (an expensive, kick (@$%&#!) piece of equipment)

My Plans were to run this the same as my old system.  Bridged Mono.  Gain at almost half-way between 1/2 and full (GAIN set as recommended on QSC site).  (Speakers:  2 Yamaha S115V (500/1000 watt))

I connected the Master Output of the KMX with RCAs into the mixer using RCA to 1/4 inch connectors.  Plugged the 1/4 inch connectors into channels 9/10 and 11/12, Left Channel (MONO) on my Behringer.  

My Question.  Which volume do I use?  Do I:
1) Set the Behringer's MAIN and Channels  9/10 & 11/12 to '0' and use the KMX's Volume and MAIN?
2) Set the MAIN and CD Volume on the KMX and adjust the channels on the mixer?
3) Or Does it even Matter, it's user preference.

Another question.  Am I asking too much of my new system by running in bridged mono?  I have run my old system like that for three years, it consisted of:
Amp:  QSC RMX2450
Mixer:  Yamaha MG 12/4
CD+G:  Numark CDN25+G
Speakers;  2 Yamaha S115V

Thanx for all of your help!  I really suck at being able to understand the physics of the whole thing.

You should know by now hat QSC's are pretty much bullet proof LOL Thats one nice amp

Well, looks like you have some pretty nice pieces there, especially the QSC and the Numark. I would assume the Behringer is the weakest link and probably the piece that would generate the most noise. I can say that because I have a Xenex 1832FX that I use on a monitor split once in awhile. I think I would start by running the outputs at around half and set the Xenex mains at or near unity., using the channels fader to control volume. See if you don't have enough headroom that way. You may need to tweak the Numark one way or the other. As far as the amp goes I usually run mine wide open or maybe 7/8. You have to remember the knobs on the amps are input level, not volumes as such. Any way I guess thats where I'd start.

Running you amp bridge mono will produce 2500 watts. You will end up with blown speakers in no time.

I would never send more than 600 watts to the Yamaha speakers you own, they just couldn't take it.

A PLX 3102 would have been a better choice for your system.

Most professional sound engineers will also tell you to always run your power amp wide open. (full gain)

If your sending the out on your NuMark to your mixer. Set the gain between -3db and 0db. Leave you numark eq set neutral and adjust from the mixer channel.

That amp is WAY too powerful to bridge to the Yamaha's pushing 2500 watts into 4 ohms bridged.  The Yamahas require no more than 500 watts per channel @8 ohms into a single speaker.  Tie them together & they become 4 ohms needing no more than 1000 watts from the amp @ 4 ohms.  If this is the amp you are going to use, then run it stereo or mono parallel where both channels receive the same signal.

Why are you defeating the purpose of having 1 fader to control a stereo source?  Plug you players left/right into channel 5/6 & push the 'sub' button - not main.  Then in your sub faders, assign the channels to left & then you have a mono signal coming out the left channel - does the same thing as you are doing now, except you are using 1 fader to control your stereo input as opposed to using 2 separate channels.

If you are running the KMX into the Behringer, you'll just want to set the volume on it making sure you are not overdriving the inputs on the Behringer & leave it alone once you get it dialed into the Behringer.  Don't add any eq from the KMX - this will open up bigger chance for distortion - use the channel eq on the Behringer.  Once you get the levels set, then you will control the main volumes from the Behringer.

You have been lucky if your running bridged for 3 years, again, that amp pushes almost double the power (at 2400 watts into 4 ohms) the Yamahas need (1000 watts @ 4ohms).  Again I would run them either stereo or dual mono which will give them their required rating of 500 watts each @ 8 ohms.
