Post subject:  Karaoke recording

My wife sings well and she would like to record her output when she sings at home.

We use JVC Karaoke box and the output of that goes to our Panasonic 1050 home theater system.  I am seeking help regarding how we can make this happen.
- We want to record from the Panasonic DVD player since the output of that has an HDMI output going to the TV
- We are fine if we record that using an Audio interface.  Sending the output from the Home theater to a USB based storage or CD burner.

Can you please suggest the different ways we can accomplish that?

Thanks for your advice and suggestions.

hook the line out of yoru karaoke machine to the line in of your home computer and use a free software called AUDACITY. Thats what I use and it works quite well. Just do a seach for Audacity and then download it.

A small collection here. I know some on here have had good luck with the M Audio versions. I use the Lexicon Omega which works very nicely also. I have also used the Behringer, wasn't real impressed with that one but for your application may work just fine. Although Z sounds is fine, I'm not recommending the store, it was just a site that showed a few in one place, I thought it might be a good place to start your research. You get the fun of looking for the best deal. You could google USB interface also.  Happy reading LOL
As has already been suggested, Audacity is a good free program to record onto, easy to use.

You guys are great.  I tested Audacity and that works great.  Lot simpler than what I expected.

Thanks again...Raj
