Post subject: | Rank, forums and KJ ??? |
Hi....I have a couple newbie questions even though I guess I've moved up one notch. Anyway, here goes 1. what is a KJ ? 2. what do you have to do to join these forums? I keep trying to get on to them and they usually say something like "you have to get permission". What is the procedure? 2. Why, when you click your name so that all YOUR OWN songs come up, are some songs "ranked" and some are not? Do a certain number of folks have to rank that particular song BEFORE an average will show up? Thanks....paddyboy (Pat) |

Quote: 1. what is a KJ ? Karaoke jockey instead of DJ for Disc jockey Quote: 2. what do you have to do to join these forums? I keep trying to get on to them and they usually say something like "you have to get permission". What is the procedure? Some of the private forums have a post requirement 1st. I think singers forum and kj forum require at least 20. To join a usergroup click the usergroup link on the page header (dependent on template design) and you can then view all usergroups. Not all groups are open access -- some are closed and some may even have hidden memberships. If the board is open then you can request to join it by clicking the appropriate button. The user group moderator will need to approve your request; they may ask why you want to join the group. Please do not pester a group moderator if they turn your request down -- they will have their reasons. Quote: 2. I'm not sure about that one - I think you're on the right track though. Post your questions in the singers forum or discussion forum to get better answers. |

Babs.....Well I tried to register to the Singers Forum. It said I was successful but when I tried to reply to a post it said I need special permission. Well, I was looking around for the moderator to e-mail to ask for the "special permission" and could not find. Any help on this would be appreciated. Then I wouldn't have to post here in the kiddie forum. he he he....paddyboy (Pat) |

Thanks for the points Paddy  Did you make sure you were logged in to Singers Showcase? A simple question I know, but it can be easily missed. You have to register and log in seperate from the forums. If that isn't it - I'm sorry I'm not quite sure what the problem would be. You can always try personal messaging (PM) someone who frequents the Singers Forum or one of the moderators (Phil, Jian or Lonman). ![]() |

Yeah, for Singers Forum you have to request it, and then you have to be approved and added to the database of those that can access it. It took a little while for me also. Not sure how I finally got in, but I think it was either an email, or a post to Phil in the Administrative part of the forums. Don't confuse Singers Forum with Singers Showcase. These are two separate things. I forget if you have to join Singers Showcase separately, but I do know you have to log in separately. If you wish to post more than 5 songs, or a larger file size then you can pay to do this. As for rank, you have to choose that option when you sub a song as 'C' for Critique or Comment. Ranks will only show up for a song that has a certain number of people responding and actually ranking you. It isn't documented (and I have asked Phil with no response), but from my experience I believe it is at least 2 people ranking you, but it may be 3. |

Thanks Bill, yea that was my main question. How many people have to rank you before it shows up? That makes sense but does anyone know for sure? Phil? |
