This is a free multi track program you can use to record. You would insert your music track into track 1, record your vocal onto track 2, then add your effects to the voice and mix them down into one file. That's pretty much what most of us here do. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ If you wanted to use a mixer on your keyboard, this one is affordable. I use one pretty similar, and it suits me fine. Of course, you don't have to use a mixer, you can just plug a cheaper mic and headphones directly into the computer. But with a mixer, you can use a better mic and have an EQ and gain and volume controls. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=631262 You can use this to rip the cdg files to your hard drive, it's also freeware: http://www.download.com/Audiograbber/30 ... 62582.html And this to play the files karaoke style on your computer: http://www.winamp.com/player With this plugin: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/100775 And that about sums up MY knowledge of recording on PC's;) Good luck. |

Speaking of Bluegrass.. While I was in Nashville, I listened to the best Bluegrass ever.. And theen again, last Saturday, a group called Flambeau rocked my world.. Tom Rigney is the daddy, and he is backed up by the best ever players/artists I've had the pleasure to hear in quite a while.. (Bought the DVD) :dancin: Zydeco? Absolutley.. Hank Sr.? Damn right.. Original works? Yep.. :hi5: Great weekend.. |

Oohh... JD, wish I'd have been there. Bluegrass is good on CD's, but it really comes to life when you hear it played live. Can't wait until the first weekend in January- I've been contacted to work again at the River City Bluegrass Festival here in Portland. (of course I said yes... dur) Rhonda Vincent will be there again, as will John Reischman and David Grisman, and Marty Stuart will be there this year also. It's a hectic weekend of all music and NO sleep. When the festival shuts down for the night, the Red Lion Inn across the street opens it's upper level ballroom to musicians... and it goes on most all night. Hella fun. Flambeau? I was gonna say... that does sound Cajun or Zydeco. I love Cajun music, Cajun style fiddling is some of the prettiest music ever played... alot of Bluegrass and Cajun intertwine. . |
