What is a good strobe light wattage for a small dance floor?  Would a Grave Ripper 750W be enough?  I want a solid strobe for under $150, the grave robber is $75.

I'm not sure how the wattage correlates to the brightness of a strobe, but I'll assume it simular to the brightness of regular bulbs and wattage. If that is the case I would think that 750 watts would be way to bight for a small dance floor. I use a 75 Watt Chauvet ST2000S hanging straight down over a 20X20 dance floor from about a 9 foot ceiling and it does the job nicely. Good coverage and bright enough for the dancers to get that "I see trails" experience. I think it's adjustable from 1 to 20 flashes per second and it is linkable. I've been using them ( I have one on the stage area also) for about 3 years and their still going strong.

I hate bright strobes or smoke or fog. 2-4 par38,s angled on each side of the stage and something like  the little Chauvet Line Dancer is enough. Anything beyond that most clubs have their own lighting.

750 Watts would light one big ceiling ball.
