Hello everyone, Has anyone ever used Martin Roland / Hisonic mixing amps before? What kind of quality are they? Im considering the MA3000K 600 Watt mixing amplifier. It says professional but Im thinking at under $500 it's pretty much low end. Any thoughts? Thanks, David |

Low end, i'd pass. It says 600 watts, that's a peak rating, it actually pushes around 120-150 watts. |

Thanks, Thats what I thought but I wanted an professional opinion. I currently use a QSC 1500a 350W @8ohm amp pushing VocoPro (no haters plz) 15" Cabs and a VocoPro (I know, I know.....) DA-1055 pre-amp mixer eq in a 4 space Odessey roadcase. Two problems; 1) My amp has been discontinued (old but what a work horse) and 2) This gig weighs a ton I'm looking for something all in one and lighter, perhaps the Behringer PMP2000. Thoughts on this amp? |

Well with going with that combo you'd be losing quite a bit of power. The current QSC pushes 350 watts per channel into 8 ohms, the Behringer pushes about 165 watts per channel. If you want a good lightweight design amp that will compare with the 1500a, take a serious look at the QSC PLX1602. It's about the same power rating & weighs half as much at 21 pounds. Or the Crown XTi2000 actually a little more power at 17 pounds. These do run a little bit more, but they are great quality amps, 6 year warranty on the QSC, 3 year no fault on the Crown. If you are happy with your sound now & just want to lighten up your rig, you may just consider an amp change. |

Yes indeed, The old QSC1500a you have there is not only a work horse, they were practically indestructible work horses. I've seen those things majorly abused and they just yawn and ask for more. If your used to that kind of quality and performance I don't think you will find it lurking in a PMP2000. Give the Yamaha EMX512SC a look, similar in power with great features and Yamaha build quality. I believe they weigh in at about 20 pounds. I'm sure Mackie and Carvin probably have simular products as well. Keep in mind you should be able to get a good portion of the purchase price back by selling off the QSC if you so desire. |

BIG DADDY Look at the Behringer PMH880 - 400 watts x 2 @4ohms The unit is at a great price $249 - I just purchased this a few weeks back to be able to leave at my regular gig and so far (knock on wood) It sounds great and works like a charm. The Yamaha is a great unit also but at $579 ..I decided to go Behringer I also own a pm2000 that I purchased awhile back for some smaller gigs and that one did arrive DOA ... some sort of short in the system. But was completely replaced at the store (guitar center) with no questions. |

Thanks guys, Im kinda on the fence on this one....... I like the Yamaha alot (prolly what I will get) and for the Berhinger, I run 8 ohm cabs so that would only be pushing about 200 watts per side. On occasion I do outside gigs and I am really used to 300 watts or better. I sold my QSC1500a for $249.00 on Ebay (Love it) and found the Yamaha mixer for $505.00 with shipping. I just need to get off my butt and place my order. Thanks again for makin newbie FEEL WELCOME!!!!!! |

RMC sells them for 490.00 all day, and at the moment they have a Demo (full new warranty) for 420.00. Thats with shipping included on both. I have purchased a few items from them and find them to be reliable. You have to email them or call them for the quote. I'm not positive but I think they are in Tennessee. If you can't find them give me a shout and I can post the link. |
