Are there any manus that you just will not sing because most of the songs by that manu have just been so bad?

I have had repeated bad experiences with MM. Any others?

For Kjs any manus that you will not buy songs from even if you cant find them elsewhere?

Sure any manu has some bad songs, but which ones don't even deserve another chance based on your experience.

Manus?....isn't that Latin for hand?......yes my hands have been bad at times....even got my face slapt a few......seriously though, I have found some songs I like from several of them...I prefer SC, but there are tons of songs I prefer the DK, LG, CB, or Pioneer version. There are some SC versions that, IMHO, suck.......there are many we could agree upon, but many are also just a personal preference, and we should never knock someone for wanting to sing a certain rendition....sometimes it's just a matter of comfort........ :)

I stay away from Tip Top, Nutech, Backstage, and Sunfly brands.

Soundchoice is the best overall IMO.  The rest can be decent,  but are hit or miss at times.

Ditto on the Backstage and Nutech. I will add StarDisc, and also an abominable thing I saw one time called "Honkie Cat" or something.

Bang for the buck, I like DK, which you can get for $5.88 a disk right now on karaoke.com.

Sweet Georgia Brown I can't stand most renditions.  Every manu has their good & bad - even Sound Choice, they are my first pick usually, but have been disappointed on occasion.

completely agree that every manufacturer has put out some clickers... but nutech and sweet georgia brown seem to be the best at getting them bad! However, I've got some Music Maestro that just NAIL the songs, and a couple of SGB ones I prefer over the other versions of songs.

Star Disc seems to get their country OK... their EARLIER discs were pretty good with pop and rock... but I hate them now...

likewise with backstage... some suck, but others are pretty good. same same with sunfly and legends... some of them are pretty good, but most suck!

I tried a couple of the star quest discs... oy! keep your money! and other than a couple of the monster hits (jackson browne, and tom petty discs), I'd save your cash on those too! ick!

Being a "vintage" kind of guy, I still prefer the Pioneer Laser Discs for spot on musicall worthiness. Also have MOST of their cd+g's. Great stuff. Then probably SC & DK. I REALLY like that 11 disc DANGEROUS collection. Backstage and Legends are real iffy, and SGB doesn't do a thing for me, however I still carry them because some people actually prefer (duh) those versions. (ok..I play for some Very strange people sometime  )

Star Disc, and sometimes the Panorama Monthlys.  But usually Soundchoice will have that version out later (when I'm usually burnt out on it by then)

And Sunfly I have to bear because those songs rarely get to US karaoke discs.

Sweet Georgia Brown songs bite the big one but they had the only "Wish You Were Here" version at the time I wanted it. Tip Top I don't care for but again for "White Bird", it was the only game in town...not a bad version, however.

Dangerous had a version long before Sweet Georgia Brown was even concieved.  Assuming you are talking Pink Floyd version.

Now TipTop is going back a ways, I almost forgot about them, I have a few lasers, on occasion a song or two will actually get picked.

I have the dangerous version as well.

I agree with Nutech and MM having really bad versions but I was burned twice with Priddis. Priddis is fine in my opinion with their versions of most songs I've heard, not the best, but good enough for me, BUT...twice I've purchased thier disks for a specific song and when I went to play it, instead of the lyrics there was some copyright blurb talking about not getting the rights to show the lyrics on the screen.  WHAT!!?? It's fine when you're gonna just record or something like that, but they're useless if you're a professional KJ or, like me, having that pop up at one of my karaoke parties. I don't know if any other manus do that but why bother to add them to the CDGs. Isn't that what the "G" stands for?

And by the way, I was able to find both songs on other manu labels, one of which was SC.

This isn't something that happens exclusively with Priddis. I have some PocketSongs discs with the same thing - even a couple where all but one or two songs DO have the graphics.  When you look at the disc to order, it usually says that the graphics aren't available - or even that a print out of the lyrics are not included - because the publishers won't allow it to be released.  I always thought that was kind of funny.  I mean, why allow the music to be recreated but not let the lyrics be available?  Not a great thing if you want to use it for "regular" karaoke, of course....

I had a reverse happen with Priddis where it said the graphics weren't available, but when I got the disc, it DID have the graphics.  Which was odd b/c I had purchased the same disc before and it didn't have the graphics, but when I needed to replace it (and had to get it as a custom disc since they don't make the disc I had before anymore), it did have the graphics.  It still had the disclaimer that the graphics weren't available.

Yeah, the first disk I purchased I didn't know any better. The second time, which was about a year or so after, I just plain forgot about it. I have to admit, I still forget to look at the caveats sometimes. It's just a pain in the butt that they do that though. I'm sure I have other songs like that but with 500+ disks in my personal collection, I haven't played every single song to find out.
