My favorite song always seem to change. I get bored easily with the same thing. It is usually the song that gives me a sort of adrenaline rush when I sing it or a song that gives me chills when someone else sings it.

The song I'm learning for karaoke right now has gotten me worked up. It is the new song by Bon Jovi/Nettles.

I sing all those songs at least once a month.

I have so many "favorites" I sometimes forget to try new songs...

I like "Never Again" by Nickelback, although I can't sing it if I'm with my lady... she F*n HATES that song! LOL!
"New Year's Day" by U2
"100 Years" by Five For Fighting has also become a favorite of mine fairly quickly.
"Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones (Legends version ONLY)
"What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts has RAPIDLY zoomed into one of my favorite attempts, although it's a bit overdone by some of the clubs around here.
"Love Somebody" and "Celebrate Youth" by Rick Springfield... yes, RICK Springfield! LOL! The latter song Joe from Zoom made on a request for me and some other fanatics! heheheh
"Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M.
"Somebody's Baby" by Jackson Brown - the old Pioneer version...
"Show Me The Way" by Styx (Dennis DeYoung vocal) - the old Pioneer version
"Take Me To The River" by the Talking Heads - again, the old Pioneer Version
"Bawitdaba" by Kid Rock... sometimes ya just gotta scream it on out! LOL!
Just about ANY Queensryche song

The list just goes on and on!

Quite frankly, my favorite is usually based on what I think I sound best singing. I wouldn't even be TRYING it if I didn't like the song!

My personal favorite, at least for this week, is K.T. Tunstall's Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, followed by And All That Jazz from Chicago (the movie) (SC versions for both). Norah Jones' Don't Know Why is creeping its way up there, too. I think it is an SC as well; only done it a couple of times.

The one that I get the most requests for, at least from the old-timers at the club, is Melanie's Brand New Key.

it's too popular here, Babs... I've sang it at home, it's not particularily hard.

A sneaky favorite of mine is Chad's "Why Don't You And I" with Santana! LOVE that. it was quite the challenge!

You Know I'm No Good - Bratty Girl Amy Winehouse
Say It Right - Nellie (Canadian chick) Furtado (I'm Canadian, 2). Love Me Like a Man and Guilty -  Bonnie Raitt.

Love to hear sung by others: Wonder Boy (and all songs by Tenacious D actually). Toadies -  Possum Kingdom.  Drowning Pool - Bodies.  Get Low - Eastside Boys, etc.

Wow some pretty cool choices so far, I even do 4 or 5 of the songs listed. I fluctuate quite a bit on favorites, depends on my mood. Lately though I been doing:

"Snow, Hey oh" by the chili peppers, pretty easy on the vocal  chords, tough cadence though.
"Somebody told me" by the Killers, usually turns into a sing along.
"True" Spandau Ballet, really fun to sing, why I don't know, maybe because women usually like it.
"Sober" Tool, voice has to be feeling pretty good to do this one.
"Hunger Strike" Temple of the Dog, duet between my bro and I, he does Cornell part, God knows I can't.
"Take on Me" Ah-a, one of my favorite 80's songs to do.
"Plowed" Sponge, personal favorite, was amazed when I found it on karaoke with Tesla's "Signs".

These songs are always fun for me to sing regardless of the size of the crowd or the response. A good response is just icing on the cake.

favourite change over time. What I sang one month ago I may no longer sing now. But generally I sing mostly those slow songs that one one wants to listen to.

Hi Everyone!  I'm pretty new here, but I know some of you's from "around the karaoke neighborhood."  :oh yeah:

It's too hard for me to pick ONE favorite karaoke song.  I like the hard rock/heavy metal stuff the best, but one of my most popular choices for karaoke is a ballad... "Love Of A Lifetime" by Firehouse.

Let's see.....every Sunday night at my bud's show, the crowd asks me to sing...
1. Danke Schoen....Wayne Newyon..

                 then

2. I'm Your Captain/Closer To Home...Grand Funk.

It's always the last two songs of the night and I have a bud who does the HIGH harmony in Captain. Crowd, for some strange reason, goes nuts for those songs. Well, we're ALL over 45 at least...maybe that's why.

Hey Donny B I wish I had a place to sing that had mostly 45 year olds ( I just turned 45 last week ). Man I love Grand Funk, I also do " I'm your Captain " their songs usually get the crowd pumped up, I also love doing "Bad time " . I saw them in Austin at the Austin music theater with all the original members in like 96 or 97, it was an unscheduled stop that they did as a benefit. It was an incredible show. Enjoyed it so much that I saw them a few weeks later at Sunken Gardens in San Antonio.

Back on topic, one of my good friends does " Poison Arrow" by ABC, does it well too, love hearing it. Rebel Yell, also is one of my favorites to hear.
