I have a friend that recently started her own karaoke gig. She has the exact KJ program as I and a simular computer, except she has Windows Vista instead of XP. The problem is that when she tries to contect her video out to a regular TV, nothing shows on it, it does play fine on a LCD TV. I have changed the resoutions as low as Vista permits, but it still does not work. She has a PNY 7600 video card with 512mb. I have heard that there is a converter out there that might work, does anyone know of such a converter or how to fix the problem.

Thank you
Rick

I have tried a few and the best one that I have found is Compuhost. It has it's own filler music in between singers and you can also play music video's. It also shows on the screen all the singers and like that they don't have to be bothering you with when is their turn. Also support is very good. They also have a music book maker that automatically adds the new songs to the book. I believe you'll be very pleased with it.

Good luck
Rick

VISTA isn't supported by any maker, that I know of.

WHY do folks think they need a brand new everything to do simple programs like karaoke hosting?

It's a BRAND new Operating System... I'd not try to use it for my personal processing until the first supporting service pack goes out for it!

Certainly not for a low supported option like karaoke! Something that's tried and proven on Win98, 2000pro, xp...

I remember when XP was having fits with it! LOL!

Buy an old computer.  They're cheap.  They work.

On the second monitor, is there a setting under monitors for tv or monitor....you may need to click over to TV from monitor.....

I have only had the experience of installing a couple of Vistas but I dont think it is a case of total despair..  Dual display is not different than XP When you right click on desktop and click props do you get 2 displays?

You mean video input right?...channel or setting on "tv".....have you tried going through a VCR, DVD with inputs, or a modulator and using channel 3 or 4...or line out on vcr, dvd

Check out this thread http://www.karaoke-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=9198&highlight=second+monitor

I posted a suggestion that works with XP and I am sure it will work with Vista. The second monitor is not automatically enable on some computers. You have to go and enable the second monitor before it even shows up on the configuration option so you can direct what will show up on the monitor.
