I'm thinking about mounting a SCREEN either a flatscreen or standard TV  in a monitor type speaker enclosure and have it on the floor in front of the singers angled up.  

Pro's ?
Con's?

Would singers like this ?

Same thing going thru my mind Recently got this tv for stage monitor it has a svga input for computer monotor also (spare). Sat we had it maybe 3 feet high and angled up. Actually about hidden .It is impressive and singers love it

I.m considering bulidin a shroud to protect it from being knocked over. Have it on the flat screen tripod. On the back of the shroud would be name of company etc.

On one of our systems (the one that we like to leave at venues if we can) we have our singer's monitor actually enclosed in a wooden "box" that is covered with black carpet; it sits directly on the floor and is slanted upward so the tv is very easy to see for the singer. People love it - can pretend there is no tv there - and it doesn't interfere with seeing the singers. We've used this for years - I can't stand that naked tv on a stand - makes the staging appear so amateur, though I admit we do use that at one of our shows.

The wooden covering protects the monitor at the same time. It's a bear to move, though...takes up space because we use a 19-inch tv for a monitor.  Someone anonymously stuck two "KISS" dolls on it one night and they have stayed there ever since. Otherwise we would put our name on it, visible to the audience.

I think that's a wonderful idea.  Make sure you plan for ventalation in the box.  If I go back to KJing you be I will be doing that.  Thanks for the idea!
