I know that some of the computer software will allow you to play CDGs directly.

However the sound quality suffers with ocasional pops, clicks and short pauses.

I was wondering if this is a common problem, or just with the software I am using (Siglos karaoke).

It may also be that my laptop is just not "fast" enough to think through cdgs.

I also suspect it may be due to "multiplex" Cds. It seems very noticable with a couple Pop hits monthly (CDG +vocal tracks), and almost or completly absent with regular music only CD+G (SC).

Any experience/comments on this matter would be appreciated.

Don't have the problem with MTU Hoster, but agree that' you should have a separate cdg player for customer discs.
