A sincere Thank You beforehand for all the assistance you guys dish out!
I would like to ask for assistance on two topics, namely,
A) "Next Singer" display on external TV/Monitor when using Winamp. Is there a way to achieve this?
B) What is the best and fairest rotation system? It's OK when one has a handful of singers, which one usually starts with, but when new singers arrive, do one place them at the end of the queue or does one "insert" them in between those who have already sung a song or two?
I have some very important gigs coming up soon and the likelihood is that quite a lot of singers will attend. I do not wish to disappoint nobody, 'cause I feel that all singers are equal!
I am using a Laptop system with Win XP Pro.
All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
Pormt

I make a custom screen thru karaoke builder... once it's made thru mspaint, then I build the cdg screen with karaoke builder. It's a tiny bit complicated... (save it as a .cdg, then build it to .bin, and then use mp3toolz to convert to a mp3g item)  Once it's totally made, the files are so small, I keep a folder on my desktop called "singers"... then I enqueue the screen before the next singer.

The only pain in the butt part of it is you really can't do this "on the fly... I do it when the singer is approaching, and I'm playing the 10-20 seconds of mix filler music. usually in advance of the upcoming singer.

I have a small section on this on my website

as far as "fair rotation" this has been discussed to death... check out some of the threads on this forum, and the "general" forum...

It sounds as if you need a real live hosting program.  autOKdj is freeware.  Roxbox is winamp based and has been well reviewed.  Download the demos and see if any fit your needs.

Thanks for your replies which  I found very helpful. I will be following your advice.
I now would like you guys to if you can help me out with another "problem".
I would like to use two instances of Winamp, one for karaoke and one for "filler" music.
The problem is that any changes I make on the "music" winamp (sound output, skin, etc) is reflected also on the "karaoke" winamp.
Is there a way to have "karaoke" winamp open as set and "music" winamp open as set with the different settings?
As usual, any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.

Install 2 winamps in separate folders... In roxbox one can reference one to to the karaoke player and the other to the fill or DJ player (in the ini file) Each can be set in preferences or used with which plugins are needed.
