It's a stifling 101 degrees here in N/W TN today. Heat index around 105! We haven't had any rain in about a month. Somebody said it was "Hotter than Michael Vic leaving a restaurant and asking for a "doggy bag." LOL
If you have any rain in sight, send it this way.

it's been in the high 90s here in Missouri, with a stifling heat index due to the humidity. I've been putting off mowing my yard, and man the crabgrass makes it look like a got a whole field of baby palm trees! ![LOL LOL](./images/smilies/emot-LOL.gif) !

We're probably about 5-10 degree's cooler than you folks down around that latitude, but the humidity is horrid. It's like a tropical rain forest up here, low 90's and upper 80's with a very high dewpoint. Of course when Brooklyn and Staten Island get a Tornado, it's not a typical weather pattern. Also, Since when is a storm in the Pacific heading towards Hawaii considered a "Hurricane" ? I thought anything over the Pacific waters was "Cyclone". Hurricane means Atlantic, right ?

They said it was supposed to be 105 here today...the past week or so has supposed to have been in the 100's, but I don't think it's actually getting quite THAT hot here....still, it's hot enough that the last thing I want to do is go outside for ANY reason....

I really can't complain. The first part of our summer was very mild, we just had a lot of rain which caused a lot of other problems.

Yeah, we just got some well needed rain. It has cooled off a bit. I even mowed the grass yesterday without passing out.

The report says it's currently 88 here.... I think they are lyin'...
I was out on my lunch a couple hours ago, and I swear it was more like 90. (yeah, i CAN tell the difference in 2 degrees) LOL
This is our county fair week... so I'm hoping the really hot stuff stays away from us for a few days. (and the rain too) 75 and clear skies would be ideal:)

Ah, so sorry to hear that Chuck.
I can sympathize with your loss though... my mud wrestling pit has dried up and me n' the gals haven't been able to use it for over a week now. :( ..........

We had our hot month in July (high 90's-low 100's), this month is lower than average temps. haven't had many OVER 80 days in Aug. Lows dipped into the 40's a few days back.

Holy smokes (no pun intended)....
I thought he was being silly. I had no clue playgrounds were ACTUALLY catching fire. Geez, that's strange. But the link you posted, that makes sense, they need to watch more closely what they use to fill playrounds with. (in places that get extreme heat anyhow) How scary.

I thought you were joking too. Wow - now that's hot !
It is in the 80s here during the day and at night low 60s, not bad. The humidity is horrible, but compared to your 100 degree weather I'll take it. We are also getting a bit of rain here and there which is nice.
The weather I think is shifting. It used to be so hot and dry in August the grass was dead and we didn't have to mow. The grass is still green and we are getting rain. I wonder what it will be like in October this year?

Well, today is supposed to be 91 w/ 26% humidity... and I have to head off to the fair to run the booth for 5 hours.. blech.
Not looking forward to it at all. (except, I'll be at the fair, rather than at the office) :D
Babs, I think the weather is freaking out everywhere. It's funny, we have had pretty hot summers the last few years, while we hear of lots more rain and flooding in areas of California that is untypical for them. Totally unlike the weather we had when I lived in California. (but, hey, what can I say?....... the sunshine follows me) :dancin:
