Hello all.

The KJ I work with is going to send me a karaoke song in a file. The file will be in the "MP3+G Zipped" format.

I want to be able to play this song on my home PC. I have Windows Media Player, but he told me that's not going to work. Is there any freeware I can download that will allow me to play this karaoke song?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

- Dave

This one here says you can play it on winAmp with the plug in installed...
http://www.karaoke-tutor.com/mp3g.html

I coulda swore I played a mp3+g on Media player 11 but not sure....

Edit//////   now I remember...Yes I ripped a ton of CDG's (mp3+G) onto my pc, but you just end up with the mp3s and have to print the words.

If you want to view the lyrics you have to have the plugin....which I never bothered to get.....

I bleive you can get a plugin for the media player. I use winamp with the cdg plugin simply unzip the two components to a file somewhere, double click the mp3 portion and the graphics should automatically play as well. There are zip players that work with winamp for example sax & dottys but for just one song that seems to be a waste of time, just get winamp and the cdg plugin

Is WinAmp beter than Media player?  I never used it...

Just getting into this Karaoke stuff.....just been downloading MP3's from legit sites...they are cheaper than mp3+g...

A monitor sure would be nice though.

I just been reading off the music stand so far or just singing from memory.

:headscratch:   This might be the excuse I have always needed to get a laptop lol

I like it Johnny :) it works nicely with the two plugins...one for the graphics and one for the pitch control
