I burned thru my 3rd and last Behringer last week.....I've had it with them

I got lucky in that the local music store had a new Peavey FX 16 on display.....So I brought it home Monday.

I'm really impressed with it.....$999 MSRP, but $539 after a little chatting and factory rebate.....AND five year factory warranty included.

It sounds like I bought new mics.....I cannot believe it's capabilities for live use and recording....It truely has it all and it does it all very well.

If you are shopping a new mixer, please audition this one too.

ha ha ha ha ha, yall are either exact opposites or married.  I can't figure out which one.  wow, if my behringer goes out, then maybe I will get a nice mixer, that one sounds way cool, but i'd have to part with the 5-600 big ones.  that would be quite an upgrade for my sorry, ameteur a$$.

I like that board except for the fact that they used a 3 band instead of 4 band eq on the stereo channels.  Never had a problem with Peavey otherwise.  Got a new Mackie 1642 on order right now & $400 cheaper.

Yep,

It's really cool that I can simply plug n a thumb drive and record straight to MP3, or a full external hard drive even.

You know, with 12 mono mic channels(who needs 12), all you do is bring in your left and right stereo inputs into 2 mono strips and you got 4 band EQ on each.

The ONLY feature the behringer had that I miss was the 9 band EQ that was switchable to monitors.......Monitors MUST be EQ'ed to avoid feedback if you have lots of stage noise and leave the extra mics open.

$539? you stole it.....lol Keith, ..I'm impressed to. And you have good reason to be impressed with your new Peavey FX 16 mixer. I also have this mixer, and without a doubt it will smoke any other mixer in it's price range, and many more expensive mixers as well. I dare say i have owned or used almost every brand of small venue mixer out there. Either for kj, dj, or band. And this little 16 channel monster blows them all away, with sound, effects, and variety of use. I am using Lexicon, Focusrite, Manley, and Avalon gear in my studio. And the built in effects on this little mixer, gives them a good run for their money. I have some killer presets in the built in  memory of the FX16 to die for. This puppy has peavey's rack Feedback Ferret, 27 band Geq, 5 band Parametric Eq, Delays simulating the old tape delay units as good as anyone out there. Reverbs up the wazo, Reverb-Delay combo's, Compression, expander, de-essers, chours, flangers, even a great tube emulator which i love to play around with on my guitar and steel. Vocal enhanser, a noise gate. Then to top it all off, an electronic power switcher for overseas use. You can run this baby Stereo, dual mono, mono, and with it's built in adjustable crossover, you can run mono both sides, and one side dedicated sub!. What i really like about this little board, is you can run up to 3 effects out of each of the two effect windows, not just two like the mackie and other boards. It has a usb "A" where i put a memory stick for practice, then download later. It also has a usb "B" port, for digital out and direct computer recording and downloading. I've had mine now a couple months. And i am still learning the things this board will do. It will keep you busy awhile keith. If there's anything i can do to help you with settings on the FX16, or share some of my pre~sets, just give a hollar....Here's a picture of this fine board. I now have taken the rack rails off, and tote it in a Gator case. Works out just dandy.  George

Except i'm needing 16 channels as it is now.  I suppose I could run the effects back into the stereo channels, but then that defeats the purpose of being able to use 1 fader for 1 player.
