Hi!!
I use Sax'n'dotty's for my karaoke Show, but I would like to use it for my own Show, which is an Elvis Tribute. I recorded all the tacks I do (136 LOL ) onto my minidisc player, but it takes forever to get the right song for a request. So, I decided to do away with the minidisc player, and just use my laptop.So...my problem is this (I am not of the computer generation, and find it hard to realise what the young and au fait understand in their sleep LMAO !!):
I want to select all the tracks I do, set the key changes tempo ect, and be able to store and retrieve the list when I need it. I believe it is possible to do with the Winamp programme, but haven´t worked that out yet. can anybody give this PC illiterate a step-by-step way to do it, and also whether I can get it in alphabetic order per title?
Thanks very much to those who can elp me!!
Nick

nick I havnt used S&D for awhile dont remember if you can save playlists, but I can get you started Winamp will work except for your key changes. Unzip your elvis tracks into a new folder. You will have a cdg file and mp3 file for each track If the naming format is by title ( Teddy Bear - elvis.mp3) they will be in alphabetical order. Then in winamp call up the playlist and add that folder. This will put the playlist in that order For a different order you have to add one at a time (mp3) then save that playlist.

For graphics the winamp uses the cdg plugin which the S&D has installed.

I use roxbox now and with it you could generate different playlists with key changes and use auto play if desired. Also you can genererate multiple data bases and shift from karaoke to elvis. Roxbox would be easier to use for that format.

There are several different ways to go about it but we will get you goin..

And to add to what karyoker has stated -- you could use a program (such as "Audacity" (its freeware to boot)) to change the pitch and tempo of those songs you need to and save the changes, so when you pull up those songs they are already pitch/tempo changed to your requirements.

Winamp have a plugin for tempo and pitch.

Yes, the Pacemaker plugin, but I believe by reading his post he wants to set and save the pitch/tempo and then save to a playlist so when he calls that playlist up the pitch/tempo changed songs are already set with the changes. I believe Pacemaker can memorise only one set of changes and then will either pass those changes on to every successive song or reset to 0, depending on which option is checked.

It has an option to "memorize the above settings for each song", which does work for me -- at least in v1.32.

Version 2.1 has that setting also but all it does is pass the same settings from the previously played song onto the next song to be played.

SALOU'S ELVIS:
I wrote a piece of software specifically for performers called KaraokeBuddy.  It has been the most remarkably unsuccessful piece of shareware that I have ever come up with (and I have written some true turkeys) and I don't know why.  If you would be willing to download the demo and then tell me why it sucks, I will do my best to fix the suckage and send you a free registered copy.  If you're interested you can download it at www.freewebs.com/sacksonuts at the top of the page.

Weed,
it's not you, its users out there that need something like what you are offering knowing if it even exists.  I was hard on sackonuts but it was a good hoster, it's kiosk worked better that AudioKDJ's did on slower machines.  I might even buy Karaoke buddy because I have been itching to try performing and it would fit well with me.
That said: the next part of my respnse is for SALOU'S ELVIS:
Sax & Dotty's does not save playlists and I doubt it ever will. to get a saved playlist one and stay within the winamp players, you might want to check out RoxBox. It has save playlist and has a second player t play filler music.
