I've had Windows Vista on my newest computer for about six months now. I still don't like it as good as the previous OSs....seems like it's a hard drive/ram hog, and the working indicater light is always doing something......been that way since day one......no viruses or spyware...... LOL ....as I type, it's doing nothing now, which is very rare.... LOL ...darn thing must here me.......any opinions on Vista.....Hasta La Vista...... :)

It sucks Most DAWS will shift over to a NIX OS.. All we need is a system that handles audio, low graphics video and the ability to handle large hard drives. With UNIX or Linux  that option to streamline exists.

Our local Dell certified folks say to stay away from it if at all possible for at least a year.  Dell not too long ago started giving you a choice on Vista or XP.  They know something just ain't quite right yet.

I've always made it a point not to switch to the "newer" OS until i just had to.

I personally don't trust any new O.S. until the first service pack is out for it! I still don't like XP, but at least I can deal with it!

That's kinda funny.... myself, as a mac user, I get excited with "new". Still counting down to the Leopard release:)

(Although, when we made the switch to OS X, I was really apprehensive, and when I finally made the switch, the first couple weeks had me swearing, and cursing, and missing OS 9....  Sometimes I STILL miss OS 9:)... Ok, maybe TWO people here will know what I am talking about!

On the pc side of my intel macbook pro, I use XP though:)
