Hi Folks, I'm a newbie with the following problem. I run a show at my own bar using a laptop with the CAVS SP program. This reads the music in mp3 format and the text in the mcg format. I have about 9,000 titles and everything works great. However, I also have about 2,000 titles in the mp3 format with cdg on my computer that the CAVS player can't read. I also have some discs in other formats for which I have a Plextor. Can I convert any of these files to play on my player? I really want to upgrade my library with he stuff I have and will buy and have everything in one master folder. Thanks, Phil |

karphil, You can use CDGFix 3.3 or RoxBox. I use CDGFix 3.3 because it does A Lot More. Hope this helps, sw00000p |

Thanks, Phil What ver. of Cavs SP are you running, I am running ver 1.34 and (providing they are not zipped mp3 and cdg of course) you can select either the mp3 file or the cdg file and Cavs SP will play it. For your discs you can use Audiograbber to rip to mp3 & cdg and if for the sake of uniformity you can get the free decoder from Cavs to convert your mcg & mp3 to cdg & mp3 and then have everything in mp3 &cdg format. Just a thought. |

Yes, I can play the cdg files using the dropdown menu in the "open" window. My dropdown is set to "mcg" as the default (the one on top). I would be faster if i could make "all supported files" the default. Then the window would show the cdg, mp3, and mcg automatically on opening. Do you know how to change that default? I'll check out your other suggestions, too. Thanks for the help. |

Yes, go into preferences (the little button with PR on it) and under the "General" put a check in the box next to "Show last selected file type" and then click "apply" Next go to open a file and select all supported file types and from here on after it will default to all selected file types unless of course you select something else. |

Or go to the cavs website and download the cdg converter it converts the .cdg files to .mcg and it does'nt take long. |
