I'm currently using virtual dj program and want to add my karaoke disc's to it, but when I go through the steps listed at vdj.net/karaoke I can't get it to reconize the zip folder. Could someone walk me through the process I know I'm just missing something. Thanks |

I have already converted it to audiograbber this is were I get stuck now it say's I have to use winzip to convert the file or files? How do I do this and do I have to include both files? Then once converted it should be read by vdj program. |

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. It Worked Great it said when I right clicked convert to zip file I did that then I found the file added it to my vdj program but in all of the excitement I forgot were I found it in the first place. No matter I will figure it out latter. Now my next question is do I have to zip each song into its own folder or can I zip a whole disc at once or even my whole collection? After I save it to my hard drive as a zip folder can I delete the other two folders or even the zip folders that are in audiograbber to save space? I'm am so frikken excited that it works THANKS |

Finna, Make sure that the mp3 and cdg files are Exactly the same. If one of them has an extra space or anything different, It will not be recognized. I use MP3+G TOOLZ. It's Free and it makes sure the contents are named the same. You can get it at http://www.activeaspsoftware.net/default.aspx?p=home. I've noticed that VDJ instructions advise you to turn your Zip extention to KZ. I work with Thousands of MP3+G files and Never have I gotten confused on where my Karaoke files are. What's the purpose of the KZ extention? What utility do you use to Unzip the KZ files back to Zip files? Are you forced to use the Command Prompt to unzip them back? If so... what a pain in the neck. Hope this helps, sw00000p |

As for your bottom question I have no idea what they are talking about because the zip files are clearly marked in my folder and even when I call it up to the screen my mp3 are blue and karaoke is yellow. |

finna I think he did...mp3toolz I believe will zip em and name em in batches so long as both the mp3 and cdg are named exactly the same |

Finna, For instance, take the name on the Zip file. MP3+G Toolz will rename the mp3 and the cdg file to the name that appears on the Zip file. As Morgan Le Fey said, So long as the files are the same. WinZip will not do this. I use KJ File Manager to ensure my Tracks are in order. Perhaps if you state exactly what steps you took, meaning the instructions, I may be able to help you better. There are other reasons why VDJ won't recognize your files, i.e. improper set-up. sw00000p |

Finna, When you Ripped your CD+G discs using Audiograbber, did you click the CD menu, and select Grab CDG Tracks (Karaoke), then choose Grab to .CDG + Compressed File Important Note: If you simply click the Grab button, AudioGrabber will ONLY extract the audio, and will NOT extract the Karaoke lyrics. Make sure to follow the instructions above, using the menus, to extract your CD+G discs. Make sure you have first configured AudioGrabber's MP3 settings to your liking within the Options window. Once you have done this, you will have a .cdg and .mp3 file of the same name for each Karaoke track. You can then use a program such as MP3+G Toolz, WinZip or WinRAR to convert them into a single .ZIP file. Hope this helps, sw00000p |

It is only the CDG file that gets compressed, MP3 does not. So you gain several hundred KBs. The main benefit is that you have one file instead of two, so it is easier to move it. |

The mp3 file is already a compressed format so usually you get about 8% on that which is not enough to bother with. The CDG file will compress an average of about 87% but that will save you at most 2mb or about 30% of the total. Each song has to be unzipped before it's played thus robbing your computer of power you could be using else where. "The best way to solve a problem is by not making it in the first place." ...O.W. But CACTUSJACK in audiograbber drop down menu it says Grab CDG Tracks (Karaoke) then the next list says grab to .bin grab to .cdg grab to .cdg+.wav or grab to .cdg + compressed file. So I don't understand what you mean because I go to grab to .cdg + compressed file and end up with two folders. Please explain because I would like to just add them to and folder and be done with it and skip the extra step. Thanks |

Post subject: | Re: How do I convert cdg disc's for virtual dj program |
that extra step is what compresses the file. Otherwise it'll be a .wav and a .cdg file. You must also have the endoder for the compression, and have it in the audiograbber basic folder to use it. http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/downl ... 0UKgW0XFgQ |
