Post subject:  Need Stand Alone CD Recorder Deck....

I'm looking for a stand alone CD Recorder that I can use to record live...I don't use my system through my computer. I have a nice stand alone LT system that produces great quality, but is very time consuming when making a recording. I have a cassette recorder in line with my system and have been recording on cassette tape. When the recording is completed I must take it over to my playback cassette player that is hooked-up to my computer  and play it through a software program to edit out the hisses and clicks, etc..When I'm satisfied with the quality I then burn it to a disk.

With a CD recorder I could just take the disk and play it on my CD Rom drive and rip and edit it that way (if I needed to)....I believe this would improve quality and be a great deal easier to edit.

I've looked at many CD Recorders...even bought one (Sony CDR 500) and after many frustrating hrs. of trying to make it work (even the specil disks recommended by sony didn't work properly) I gave up and took it back to Circuit City.....

Does anyone know of an easy to use simple CD Recorder WHITHOUT a lot of bells and whistles that would be good for my particular need....?

One tray would be ok for me....I have a cd player that I play my accompaniment music through that works fine I just need the recording feature.

Thanks;

Dave

Interesting little units.

I have an older Boss Br1180cd recorder... man, talk about SWEET.

I don't even use it for what it's REALLY designed for... track by track recording.

But I've never once regreted buying it.

BEST recorder i've ever used is the Alesis Masterlink.  Very easy, although it is quite pricey for casual use.

Daveo...The Sony RCD-W500C you purchased is a Basic "Home" style cd recorder. If this is what you are you looking for is a simple dual drawer CDRW Home Audio Recorder? There are several, Philips, JVC, harmon/kardon....Do you have to have dual drawers? are you going to be doing that much cd dubbing with it? If you are just going to use it to record as you have described above, then your best bet would be to get a semi pro unit like the HHB CDR830 BurnIT. Simple single drawer, and it will use both formats. You don't have to go out and look for those over priced "Audio" cdr and cdrw format disc that most home units still use. Here again, it's a little more money then the Sony, but well worth the little extra investment, and much more simpler to use. I have a great dual drawer harmon/kardon unit i would part with, like new in the box. A great unit, with 4X speed finalization, and dub....drop a line if interested.

Yes I'm interested in the Harmon/Kardon...Please tell me more about it....I really don't need the dual feature...but if the price is right it won't make a difference.

Please email me.
Thanks.
