Okay, making the change from CD+Gs to Laptop.  Any advice on which programs to use to run a karaoke show?  Local advice was for me to download Sax & Dotties and a WinAmp.  But how do I get the Karaoke from my CD+Gs to the harddrive?  I have a Plextor CDRom on my home computer, Will I need an additional program to rip the songs?

Thanx for the advice!

(I'm sure an earlier forum discussion on this subject has already taken place... I am looking for it but haven't found it yet)

AudioGrabber.... Works perfectly for me, I do lots of ripping cdg's to my hard drive. Google it, it's freeware. You can rip cdg + wav (or cdg + Mp3) and they will open with Winamp.

Not with the above.

For $5 you can get KJRIPNZIP which will do everything for you.  unless they've come out with a new version of Audiograbber, it only deals with unzipped songs.  If you have a lot of Multiplexed songs (songs with guidevocals on one side of the stereo mix) RoxBox is the only winamp based program to provide a plugin for those type of songs.  A Lot of Nutech discs are multiplexed. KJRIP N ZIP will also name your files based on an internal database or uses KJPRO version 1 and 2's database as well. the website is www.kjamp.com and the software is worth every penny if not more than what they are asking for.

Or you could just not zip them as it serves no purpose.  Sax & Dotty's is a pretty sad excuse for a hoster in my not so humble opinion.

Ah yes, but "Snog" or KaraokeBuddy as it was later called, is not a hoster.  It's only good for practice or performance.  But thanks for the plug Witchy-poo.
