Need some expert deciphering of the following POWER specs for a POWERED MIXER.

It's advertised as a 1200watt powered mixer and I realize that's at 4ohms!!
So thats 2 x 600w at 4ohms  which  I normally would think is close to
2 x 300watts @8ohms.???  :thinkin:  :thinkin:

PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN THE FOLLOWING : ( NO NEED TO BASH BEHRINGER) JUST LOOKIN FOR AN EXPLANATION

Output Power
RMS @ 1% THD (sine wave), both channels driven; 8 Ohm per channel: 165 watts; 4 Ohm per channel: 250
RMS @ 1% THD (sine wave), bridged mode:8 Ohm: 500 watts
Peak Power, both channels driven; 8 Ohm per channel: 225 watts; 4 Ohm per channel: 350 watts
Peak Power, bridged mode: 8 Ohm: 800 watts

The 2 specs that glare out are.

# RMS @ 1% THD (sine wave), both channels driven; 8 Ohm per channel: 165 watts; 4 Ohm per channel: 250
# RMS @ 1% THD (sine wave), bridged mode:8 Ohm: 500 watts

In the bridged mode the output per channel is 250 watts...

Peak power is 1.4 X rms power pure and simple and precisely with a sine wave. With dynamic signals such as audio it varies with the peaks esp bass but the variance isnt that radical..

I went to the Behringer site and their specs make a little more sense  ( I think the specs shown on MF are wrong????)

Specs per Behringer site :

OUTPUT POWER
RMS @1%THD (sine wave) , both channels driven:
8ohms per channel   215w
4ohms per channel   450w

Peak Power is listed "per channel"  as
300w for 8ohms
600w for 4ohms

These numbers are more in line with a 1200w advertised powered mixer?

Yup it does make more sense 1.4 X 215 = 301 but I think they are giving bridged mode specs..

The bridged mode is listed as :
RMS 8OHMS 900W
PEAK 8OHMS 1200W

side note: It looks like a decent little unit for $400

I had to do a quick refresher on bridging
tutorial



I really didnt look at the other features (could be a buy) but it would depend on the size of venue as far as watts is concerned.

It's a small venue and I'm looking to be able to leave something their on a permanent basis ?  Power wise it would be ok and price wise not to expensive (just in case )  Thanks for your input
