After checking here I decided to purchase Phonic 740 Plus Pa package from musicians friend. For $399.00 its a decent system. Sounds great. Unfortunatly the speaker cable and microphone that come with it sucks.

Also another member here purchased and complained about packaging. If you purchase....Ask for better packaging. If mine had to spend another 5 minutes with UPS it would have been destroyed I think.

I will use this for home and some smaller gigs.

They also complained about the cables that came with it... They recommended getting better cables - both speaker & line cables.

Musicians Friend is starting to discover it is cheaper for them to ship in the package box, then to invest in shipping cartons. The reason being, if it's junk by the time you get it, they can just file a claim with UPS or FedEx, have them pay for it, and ship you another. They also count on you wanting it bad enough, that you will keep it if it has a blem or two. And after all, the thought of free shipping is a main selling point. Some companies like Sweet Water Sound, still care enough to ship it right, and still for free. If you decide to return the item however, then they take out their "Free" shipping from your refund. What irritates me, is getting someone elses return they have used and abused for 45 days. Then sent to me as a new unit. It has happened to me and others many times. Musicians friend was in the process of moving their warehouse and returns department a while back. A friend of mine sent an item back, it took 2 and a half months for a refund. Don't expect any tech support out of anyone who answers a phone there...but they are good people. The last tech support gal i talked to there, although she couldn't answer my questions, did have a knowledge of deep sea fishing, her father ran a fleet of fishing charter boats, nice gal, wrong job.
