If they turn in six seperate slips or sing as a group six times, it's still six songs sung.    Same amount of rotation time.      I don't penalize anyone, period.     So you just may as well take out all of the duets from your book.   They won't be used.    So now you only had 9,000 songs instead of 10,000.   LMAO

Your Duets section is false advertising, because if you sing one, you face the firing squad.    :(

There is nothing that sounds better than people doing a duet, that sounds perfect.

I get very few complaints about my rotation.    The crybaby A**holes only come around once in a while.    They can always go to the competitions crappy karaoke and someone that will put up with there S**T.    I don't need them or want them.      It's usually always the bad singing screaming drunks that complain anyway.

So come to my really good karaoke.   Have fun, spend your hard earned money, keep me working, But no not expect to sing duets or have fun as a group, because it will not be tolerated.     Strick enforcement and penalties are applied.

Yet 1 group is getting up 6 times.  I am not going to subject the rest of the crowd to watching 1 group sing multiple times per round just because they only sing as a group ie 1 entity!

Slight exageration here.  If you sing a duet, it the turn for both people.

I get few complaints on mine as well.  Funny how that works huh?  Crowds can learn to adapt & if they like what they see, they will return & support the show, if not, they can go elsewhere - plenty of places to choose from.  I don't expect anyone to stay at a show that they don't agree or like - I know I wouldn't stay or return if I was at a show I didn't like.  You've been in the business 14 years you say, I have as well (actually 15).  At the same club 14 of those years 7 nights per week - it would stand to reason that I probably wouldn't be there if people didn't like the way I ran the show.

Yep come in as a group, sing duets.  Don't expect to sing more than anyone else though.

Bottom line! What I do works for me & my crowd, what you do works for you & your crowd.  You don't agree with me, I don't agree with you - ISN'T AMERICA GRAND!!!

LON, In all the years at that club, has the crowd been pretty steady or has there been a lot of ups and downs?   You have probably had 2-3 major crowd changes in that time.   An entire new generation of singers.   What is the average age of the crowd now.  Does it change from night to night?     Is the music selected different from night to night?

Babs, as a woman you have nothing to lose.   If I was a woman, I would get married every day of the week.   You will always come out of it with something.

Of course the crowd changes.  We get a very definitive crowd shift every couple years.  But my rules still don't change & the new crowd adapts.  Average age actaully stays consistant in the 20-40's - although we do still get all ages.  We get our ups & downs mainly because of the amount of songs per night.  We get popular & it packs out, then people start not coming because they can't sing alot so we start getting dead nights, then we start getting busy because we are dead & singers can sing more, then it starts packing out again.  It's about a 3 month cycle.  6 month from peak to peak.  I did the myspace thing this year & have actually gotten several singers back that I haven't seen in years - so that was a big bonus for using MySpace!

Mine seem to be averaging a little older.     Not too many 20s, regularly.   I still have a few diehards from years ago, but for the most part the next generation of singers is here and they are starting to be replaced.     Mine are probably 30s-50s.   Some 55 and more regulars, at certain places.

So for a 6 months max cycle you can have a nominal of 4.2 months RMS? :D

Sorry to say this isn't true if you make more money than the man. I've seen it happen to my friends. My girlfriend who is a dental surgeon got taken to the cleaners and she has the kids. She went through 3 lawyers, 4 yrs, and $100,000
before she finally was divorced. The law actually works against the person who makes more money. It isn't gender based. It is true woman have the upper hand on keeping the kids, but that's about it. Usually the man is the main bread winner because the woman's main job is the children. In my case I have to worry like most men. I haven't dated a guy yet that makes more money than me, so I'm basically have the same worries as most men when it comes to divorce. Maybe that's why I'm more leary about making the leap.

Sorry about going off topic here, but this is something most people don't realize.
