My Mom was talking at Christmas or possibly Thanksgiving a few years back about her family in Floodwood Minnesota when she was a kid and she made the mistake of telling everyone how her uncles used to play the spoons. (picture a spoon in the hand to the left) and apparently that's some of my passed on relatives. Well, my wife got a lot of mileage out of that for quite a long time. So she would like me to say, a spoon. I would say that I played (with) the organ for many years but my instrument would be the sax. Played well it drips emotion.

Gotta hit and run tonight I only have a few minutes before it back to bed and back to 12 hour shifts tomorrow morning, 6:00AM (blah!)

Being alot older than you I have played with my organ longer than you. it also drips with emotion. unlike the spit coming from the bottom of your Saxaphone. How do you guy's clean out all that spit anyway ? from horn's like saxes and bugel's and such? I always wondered that .

Do you know of any decent sites for buying sheet music for a "Stick in the Mud" ? I think I have the knack it takes to excel at such an instrument. I used to play one of those round wheels with chains around it. You know, It's called a Que Pasa.
It an old Portugese instrument named after a long meat that you can grill, or eat smoked. Lot's of preservatives tho, but with enough Mustard you don't taste them

I'm bidding on a contra-bass Jaw Harp on Ebay. Those are favorites of the American Dental Association. Regardless of how hard I applied myself, Whenever I played Celtic folk tunes on Nose Whistle, at recitals, Not once did I get lucky. I guess I really blew.. Must be the Deviated Septum.. I hope I'm not on Meghans list now

My grandfather played the mouth harp. He had all kinds of them.
As a kid I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Let me see. If we are talking "personality-wise", I would have to be an intrument that:
*Is loud and obnoxious alot of the time
*It would have to be one that you gotta keep a firm grip on to keep it from making
regretable mistakes.... (SORRY!!!) :(
*It would not be too awfully big
*It would have to be at home out in the country, or in the woods
*And it would take two hands to handle it
Yup, I guess I'd be a fiddle.

Quoting myself now folks! I went out wednesday night in Austin to karaoke and it blew chunks to say the least. I went to one place and got drunkie, sang about 5 songs, had the friend who was supposed to be there at 8:00 show up at 9:15. Then he said he wasn't going to drink. (I always like to hang out with someone who isn't drinking at all when I'm half in the bag, NOT!) He and I sang The Ramones "I wanna be sedated". I could see that he was bored, which is also always nice, so I told him I was going to another place. He went home. I got to the other place (South 40) that does karaoke on wednesday night and I walked in and there was no music (bad sign). I walked up to the bar and asked what happened to karaoke and she said they had karaoke. I stupidly ordered a drink when she pushed the issue (frozen margarita) and took about 3 sips and left it. Two people in the bar, no music playing, no karaoke.
So I went up to another bar, this one is an actual karaoke bar but it's a long drive to this one. I got there and they had remodeled (The Common Interest) and it was an awesome looking bar and one of the waitstaff was up singing karaoke. (very well too). I had brought my own disc so i went to the KJ and tried to hand it to him with a slip saying what song and he said I would have to wait until after midnight because that was when the manager came in and he didn't know how to play an actual disc. I was like, "one of them" (KJ's who know nothing about anything) -what button do i push now?- So I grabbed a book and turned in two songs, Angie by the Stones and Iron Man by Black Sabbath. I grabbed a drink and watched the show and realized that half the staff was singing. They had a very light rotation. Too bad I had to wait for the entire staff to sing to get up for the 1st time of the night. So I get up and the Stones tune is on a knockoff label and the backgrounds are pretty bad but it went okay. Then I get up to do Iron Man and on comes Bruce Springsteen. I say that's not it and here comes Bruce Springsteen. He has to go get someone who knows something about anything. Then comes Bruce Springsteen (not what I requested) so I say just let me sing Creep by Radiohead. So that went okay and when I get up to sing again I am trying to sing One by Creed and on comes a children's traditional song, One. -just not a great night in general, and I was really looking forward to getting out and singing off some stress. Life could be a lot worse but I guess I was hoping for a night of fun. Always next week I guess!

The first instrument I would be, of course, is THE UPRIGHT ACOUTSIC BASS---'cuase like myself--they're all about the GROOVE and THEY'RE JUST WAY TOO COOL!! LMAO
My second choice would be a HAMMOND B3 ORGAN! With ALL THAT SOUL!!!

I would like to be a violin. They are well taken care of and I think I would have a better chance of being owned by a woman with a chamois. Oh yeah, a pretty girl and a chamois, I could spend eternity this way.
I might not like being played as a fiddle so much though.
