Hi! Couple answers below.

4. How long will a song remain on the New Songs list? 1 month, 2 months, etc...?

Song remains on the list as long as there's room for it. New releases will push the existing ones out of the list.

How long is the list supposed to get (how many titles) before it runs out of room? Currently you're new, so every song you produce now will be new. It is conceivable that, right now, one could be scrolling through 10 or more pages of New Songs on that list. 6 months to a year down the line, you won't be new anymore. Production of newer songs will be fewer (as compared to today, where you're putting everything you can out there). Looking ahead, I don't think that people would like scrolling through a list of songs from 6 months ago, that are still listed as New Releases (even with a release date added to the display information).

What site are you guys on? I signed up for the preview site long ago, and when I visit the page for karaoke.net, I am not seeing any content at all.

There is a little "welcome" banner on the top right corner of the page. Click it, and it will take you to the store.

I signed up as well. I click the Welcome and it stays on the same page. I tried with Chrome and IE.

same here, not seeing anything but the email signup. what is the Direct link to the store?

Hi guys

If you are one of the people who signed up early to be in the preview group of users and got left out, please send a PM to Lonnie for the link. He agreed to to do this on our behalf as we are not opening the site up to any more new signups between now and Dec 1 when we go completely live.

As for the comments on the New Releases page, we will discuss it internally. It is complicated as we have so many songs to release that are existing catalog which is being cleared for use and as they go live are immediately populating the list. This process will be ongoing for the next several months as we have over 22,000 songs to upload.

Thanks again for the feedback. This site will continue to evolve with your input. We are dedicated to the service to our customers and we will strive to deliver wherever we can.

Michael

I sang from the songs I purchased and want to say I found the quality to be top-notch.
The music sounded great, and totally made up for my less than great vocal performance. The drunks in the bar were thoroughly impressed.
I'm also impressed by the speed at which the website is evolving into a very user friendly experience.

simple, clean, not bad.
what about an auto populate link? like you have sey up for manu (the PY name is a link) and disc, but the same for the artist name (what else do they have by so and so) and the title (who else does this?). for example, "days of wine and roses" is done by Tony Bennett and Andy Williams. just click on the name and see everyone with a song named that (great for the confused at the shows who know it's NOT so and so, but don't remember who it is).

How is it you guys are able to use and purchase from the site? All I get is the main screen. Clicking on "Welcome To Karaoke.net" does nothing.

If you registered prior to the 15th of Nov, you should've received an email with the preview link.

One of the earlier posts from KSF said that the link email is not yet automated and that they send out emails manually every few days with the link.

Still waiting here also.

LMAO I tried Passage To Bangkok, Some Heads Are Gonna Roll & Destroyer tonight! Funny stuff! This was all going into them completely blind & not hearing the originals in several years!!!
On the plus side, the preview sample didn't do them any justice - these tree tracks were very well done & sounded great over my system!

3. Will you show a date that a new song was added?

I see no reason not to show that, but I'm not the one to make that decision.
I 2nd adding the date the track was added to the database - especially if you just leave them up until the page is full. But do not necessarily take that date field away once it goes into the main list - it just gives us users an idea "this song has been available, check your database to see if you already bought it" or "this song was dated a couple weeks ago, I think I missed buying it then". I almost missed out on the Kinks - Destroyer because you guys just added like 1600 new tracks within the last couple days!

Song remains on the list as long as there's room for it. New releases will push the existing ones out of the list.

See this is where a 'date added' to each song would be perfect, especially in these infant times when you are adding more new tracks than the 'new' section can handle. Total count now is up to 5669!! :D

Just purchased my first track.

Shinedown - Cut the Cord

I really like the quality. I'll be honest though I don't care for the process to purchase and get the song. I select the song and put it in my cart. I then checkout. Then I go to Paypal and log in there and pay for the song. Then I go to my email and select the download link to get the song. That's a lot of steps for on the fly use.

With Karaoke Version I have a credit card set on the account. I select the song into my cart, select pay with my card and download the song to my computer. Way faster all the way around.

I'm hoping with future updates we get some different options. Great music though :)

You don't have to go to your email. When you are done purchasing through PayPal, click go back to Sybersound and your downloads will pop up on a screen.
Otherwise go to My Account, Order History and click email me order details and downloads - it will send you an email, but it will also bring up a page of your donwloads for that order. I did put in a request to not have it send an email on top of opening the page, and make the email an option.

One thing that would be very helpful would be to let us know when a song has explicit lyrics. Could be done simply by adding the word explicit as part of the song title. (ex: Back To Back (explicit) - Drake) While it's come to be expected from some artists, it does make life easier to know which songs aren't appropriate for some venues.

No lyrics are explicit per policy of Party Tyme. I edit out the cursing in the audio tracks (even hell and damn) and *** (asterisks) appear on screen as a visual replacement. The only place something could 'slip' through is within the ORIGINAL Pocket Songs CD+G library. In that library, 8352 songs were already scripted and they were directly converted, but I guarantee that Drake is not in them. Not all of those PS songs will make it to US release due to licensing and restrictive no-fly lists. We are still scripting from a list of nearly 3000 PS songs that never made it to CDG originally by them, so our new scripting-non cursing-family friendly rules are in place when we create those.

I think that editing out minor swear words might be a tad excessive. That means that you would have to list Pat Benatar's classic as "**** Is For Children" rather than it's title of "Hell Is For Children", excessive and silly, but using that policy, required. These days words like 'damn' and 'hell' (depending on the context) are even allowed on over the air broadcast.

I think that rather than using asterisks it would be easier to use the actual "Radio (cleared for broadcast) Version" which would truly be the clean version. The asterisks don't make the song clean, it just denotes 'insert profanity here' and experience has shown that if the singers know the song (even the kids), 9 times out of 10, they will . Any song that you have to change the lyrics to asterisks should still be listed as explicit. This way the KJ doesn't end up getting blindsided.
